August 13, 2012|By Meteorologist Ross Janssen | Storm Team 12

Scattered showers and storms will move back into Kansas overnight as a storm system moves out of the Rockies.

The best chance for rain overnight will be in southwest Kansas. Low temperatures will range from upper 50s northwest to mid 60s in southcentral Kansas.

Early Tuesday morning, scattered showers and storms will be possible in central and eastern Kansas, but the rainfall will not be very heavy. Afternoon sunshine is expected for much of Kansas with gusty south winds across the west. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s in the west, with low 80s in southcentral Kansas.

Wednesday gets hot again in Kansas with highs between 95-100. A strong cold front coming in on Thursday will set us up for scattered showers and storms and a big cooldown is coming for the second half of the week.
