(DERBY, Kan.) — "What's insulting is, who would steal from veterans?" wonders the Derby VFW's Ken Lord.
The answer--whoever the man is who was captured on video doing it.
A burglar in Derby hit three businesses in the same night. A surveillance video at the VFW was able to get a good description of the suspect.
Derby police are now looking for the burglar. On its Facebook page, police posted the burglaries occurred around 4 a.m. on August 15th. They happened at Ralph's Barber Shop, Dreamscapes and the VWF. All three businesses are located on south Baltimore in Derby.
"Facebook reaches a lot of people," Derby Police Lieutenant Tim Brandt says. "It's an opportunity for us, in addition to our typical news releaseson the cases it's just another avenue for us to get people to see the information, and maybe they can help us."
The suspect is described as a white male with dark hair pulled into a pony tail. It appears he has a tattoo on the outside portion of his right calf. If anyone has information about these incidents, contact the Derby Police Investigations Section at 788-1557, or Derby Crime Stoppers at 316-788-8477.
