Citizens rally for Wichita Police

(WICHITA, Kan.) — We've grown accustomed to seeing demonstrations outside Wichita City Hall.  But one there Friday may have caught your attention.

These people showed up not to protest against something, but in support of the Wichita Police Department.

The message, thanks for doing a risky job trying to protect citizens.

Jodee told us, "I'm out here just to show the Wichita P-D that we do support them, and that we do appreciate everything they do for us daily..putting their lives on the line, we do care, there are people out here who do care, we're not all bad".

Earlier demonstrations took place outside city hall after several officer-involved shootings.
