Sun-filled skies will be the rule today, with cooler than normal (91 for Wichita) temperatures, so sing along "...Plenty of sunshine headin' my way...Zip-a-dee-doo-dah...", well you know the rest. It will also be a bit breezy for part of the day as northeast winds turn a little gusty. Wind speeds should relax by late afternoon. Afternoon highs will reach the lower to middle 80s.
Tonight looks mostly clear and cool with light winds. Open up the windows and enjoy some fresh "cool" air. Lows will drop into the 50s statewide.
Monday looks a little warmer with another storm system closing in from the northwest. A few late day/evening storms will be possible in the west, with just a few of them trying to work into central Kansas by Tuesday.
The next storm system looks to bring more chances of rain to Kansas for Thursday into Friday - still some uncertainty in regards to how soon this system reaches Kansas. Temperatures will gradually warm for the second half of the work week back to what is "normal" for August.
