(HAYS, Kan.) — A third Hays Medical Center patient has testing positive for a strain of hepatitis C.
According to Hays Daily News, the strain is closely related to that carried by a former contract employee at the hospital.
That employee is a traveling contract medical technician who was later arrested for stealing drugs from a hospital in New Hampshire. He's also accused of contaminating syringes used on patients, which may be the cause of infection.
