(WICHITA, Kan.) — If you are accustom to commuting around Wichita chances are you have been bottlenecked in traffic on I-235. The highway has some construction on it and at times drivers are squeezed into one lane.
“If you don’t have to go that route avoid it”, says trooper Scott Koehn of the Kansas Highway Patrol.
He adds that a lot of drivers are not paying attention to the “no pass zone”…instead they are cutting in long lines of traffic. If caught, violators may have to cut a check starting at $250.
Mike Johnson owns Wichita driving school and he has had to brief some of his students on the construction area. When they get behind the wheel gives them two pieces of advice.
“The main thing is slow down early”.
Secondly, he tells his students to keep a cool head at all times.
“So other people’s driving won’t be a problem to you”, says Johnson.
