(EL DORADO, Kan.) — When football season begins Saturday, fans of Butler Grizzlies will have two things to cheer about.
The new $12 million BG Products Veterans Sports Complex opens its gates September 1.
The project is a three-way partnership between the city of El Dorado, the El Dorado School District and Butler Community College. "You're going to see little kids playing little league football on here on Saturday mornings, you're going to see the high school team playing here Friday nights, the Butler soccer team, the track and field team in the spring and of course the football team in the fall," Matt Jacobs, BCC assistant athletic director told our news partners at KFDI radio earlier this month.
Butler's football team enters the season ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA, behind East Mississippi Community College
Kickoff on Saturday is at seven o'clock. Gates open at five o'clock with a stadium dedication at 5:45 p.m.
