(WICHITA, Kan.) — A warm December day brought out many people to enjoy a bike ride---but not in College Hill Park.
Some complained about aggressive riders, so the city put up signs---enforcing an old ordinance and making it illegal to ride bicycles in the park.
"I refuse to. I thought they can ticket my 4 year-old, I will fight it in court, I don't mind," says Becky Hale, a College Hill resident.
Hale and her family have been biking around the park for more than 6 years. She says heavy traffic on the main streets aren't safe for cycling.
"We come here and I can see them all throughout the park and I can go at my own pace and not worry about where they are," she says.
Celia Gorlich says she's run into some of those "not-so-nice riders."
"I was with the dogs once at about dusk and they came up behind us really fast, coming up on the grass and yes, it startled me and terrified my dogs and that annoys me because it's not necessary," says Gorlich.
But she doesn't support the ban.
