(WICHITA, Kan.) — Update: Wichita police have identified the two men killed in an early morning crash in West Wichita.  The driver was 21-year-old Marcus McClellan of Wichita, the passenger was 22-year-old Devan Krausch of Wichita.

Police say McClellan was pronounced dead at the scene, Krausch was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

Wichita police believe speed may have been a factor in an overnight crash that killed two people.

A car crashed into a utility pole around 2:40 Thursday morning near 13th and 135th Street west.

Police say an eyewitness saw the car headed west on 13th Street at a high rate of speed before the crash. The car struck a culvert beside the road, went airborne and struck the utility pole.

The impact snapped the pole and brought down power lines.  Several hundred people were without power for several hours because of the crash.

The 21-year-old man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.  His 22-year-old passenger was thrown from the car. He was rushed to the hospital, but died a short time later.

Their names have not been released.

Police are also trying to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
