(WICHITA, Kan.) — Do you have an outstanding warrant? How about someone you know? The City of Wichita's Municipal Court is offering those with outstanding warrants the chance to resolve their situation without being arrested or paying warrant fees.

The Amnesty Week wraps up Friday afternoon at 5:00.

The city says, as of Thursday morning, 650 people have taken advantage of the program...clearing up 700 of the 20,000+ warrants the municipal court has outstanding.

Amnesty Week lets those with outstanding warrants resolve court obligations and have warrant fees ($50) waived without arrest for Municipal Court cases. Those conditions only apply if the defendant voluntarily appears to resolve the warrants in court during that week.

Municipal Court issues around 25,000 warrants each year to residents who have failed to comply with court-ordered obligations.

The names of defendants with outstanding warrants are currently posted at and will be listed in a publication provided at area Dillons stores beginning March 15.

Defendants with outstanding warrants can still avoid the threat of arrest by resolving warrants prior to Amnesty Week. They can do that by appearing in the Court Clerk’s Office located on the 2nd Floor of City Hall, 455 N. Main.
