Police in Salina say other arrests could come in connection with the death of Kristin Tyler.  Her body was found Thursday afternoon in Saline County.

"We received information on some possible locations," Lt. Scott Siemsen of the Salina Police Department said. "There was a deputy on patrol that was looking as well and did locate her body.

Police say it's possible that her body has been there for the two weeks she was missing and that the crime could have been committed where the body was found.

Police have not released any information on other possible persons of interest.

"This is an ongoing investigation," Siemsen said. "We are expecting more arrests."

One man is already in jail on one count of first degree murder.

Joel Heil was arrested on Wednesday at a hotel in Abilene on a probation violation and failure to appear.

According to the online booking report with the Saline County Jail, Heil is being held on those two charges and one count of First Degree Murder (Intentional and premeditated)

Eyewitness News will continue to follow the case. Look for updates as they become available.

Authorities have recovered the body of a missing woman outside of Salina, according to family.

Authorities recovered the body in the 2000 block of W. Stimmel Rd. 2 p.m. Thursday. Multiple law enforcement vehicles were parked on the shoulder of the northbound lane of I-135, just south of I-70, on the bridge that goes over Stimmel Road.

Kristin Tyler was reported missing about 2 weeks ago. Her step-father tells Eyewitness News investigators have identified the body as Tyler's.

Tyler's family last saw her when she left to run some errands.  She never came back, but her car was later found abandoned.

On Wednesday, officers arrested Joel Heil at a hotel in Abilene on a probation violation and failure to appear. Police have said he is a person of interest in connection to the crime.

One day before finding Tyler, authorities searched a Salina junk yard after receiving a tip in the case.

Jerry Anderson, who lives near the crime scene, called it a tragic end.

"There's a lot of bad people out there," he said.

Desiree Congdon, Salina resident, said it wasn't the news she wanted to hear.

"You hear it, but you don't want to believe it," she said. "It kind of like a slap in the face."

Salina Police are expected to release more information Friday morning.
