One more day of triple digit heat is on the way for much of Kansas. Thanks to the high humidity, the heat index will average 105-110 Thursday afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday.
There is some good news! A cold front moving across the state tomorrow will bring a noticeable cooling trend, starting Friday and lasting into the middle of next week. The front will also bring a chance for thunderstorms to central and eastern Kansas tomorrow afternoon and evening. Severe storms are possible, with large hail and high winds the concerns.
Storms will return to western Kansas Friday and Saturday as temperatures continue on a downward trend. A few storms are back in the statewide picture Monday through Wednesday.
