Wichita, Kan. — The 16th Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet hosted the years' best athletes and possibly some of the best athletes of all time. Wichita State's most decorated athlete of all time, Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton stood out among the local awards. She took home the 2013 College Female Athlete of the Year award.

The premiere award of the night was the Johnny Bench Award for the nation's best division one catcher. The finalists for the Johnny Bench Award were Georgia Tech's Zane Evans, New Mexico's Mitchell Garver and Ole Miss' Stuart Turner. Turner walked away with the coveted Bench Award at the end of the night. He said this is something he will always remember.

"It's tremendous just to be listed with these guys," Turner said. "To be under Johnny Bench's name and to be listed as one of the best at the position I play. I take a lot of pride in the defensive side. That's why I love to play catcher and like I said, just to be listed with these guys and to be listed as a winner is just a tremendous honor. I am so grateful for it and I just want to thank God for it."
