(PRATT, Kan.) — A shooting in Pratt that killed a pregnant mother and injured another man has now been turned over to the Kansas Attorney General's Office.
Alexandria Duran, 22, and Brandon Wright were shot while walking in front of a house near Ninnescah and Blaine Wednesday night. Duran died at the scene, Wright was taken to a Wichita hospital where he remains hospitalized. His brother, Zachary, who witnessed the shooting, tells Eyewitness News Brandon will likely be paralyzed from the waist down.
Officers arrested 21-year-old Bryant Seba shortly after the shooting. He remains jailed on second-degree murder and aggravated battery charges.
Zachary said racial slurs were exchanged between the two groups, as well as a scuffle, before the shooting.
The Kansas Attorney General's office will review the case and determine what charges, if any, will be filed.
Witnesses said Duran was five months pregnant. She also leaves behind three other children.
Duran's funeral will be held at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., at 2 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial fund has been set up to help with funeral costs. Donations can be made at the mortuary.
