(WICHITA, Kan.) — Update:  A search for some rare motorcycles comes to an end.  Wichita police recovered the stolen bike Thursday evening, hours after finding the stolen trailer where they were housed.

Jon Haney reported his trailer and two motorcycles stolen from the 13th and Ridge area early Wednesday morning.

The bikes include a rare Honda Blackbird motorcycle, which he has been working on for a while.

Thursday morning, he received a call from the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department, which happened upon his trailer while arresting a man on unrelated charges.

The trailer and some equipment was recovered, but no signs of the two motorcycles.

"I've been building on that thing for 11-12 years. That's difficult to replace as Honda doesn't make that model anymore.  So everything on it, I can't replace," said Haney.

"It's always nice when we can retrieve some property for our victims. And the trailer does have some damage to it but he'll have it back shortly," said Sgt. Wayne Ruffner, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office.

Haney says he's thankful to have some of this property back but the loss still stings.

"I was looking to try and go to nationals this year and I have to win that ride in Topeka and if I don't have that bike, I don't see how I can do that," he said.

Anyone with information about the bike is asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS: 316-267-2111
