One person is dead after being struck by a train near the fairgrounds in Winfield. Police say it happened just after four Saturday morning.The victim was found near the tracks. Police are still investigating what caused the accident.

A 37-year-old Wichita man dies in an overnight accident. That happened just after 2:00 Sunday morning at Allen and Meridian in Valley Center. the man lost control of his blue Ford Explorer, hit a curb, then struck a utility pole. First responders say he died on impact. His name has not yet been released to the public. A 42-year-old passenger was not injured.

An investigation is underway in Rozel, Kansas, after an employee at the Golden Valley Inc. Rozel Grain Facility was in a accident. Mr. Rosendo "Manny" Ceniceros died after an accident on Wednesday morning. Ceniveros was a resident of Rozel. Golden Valley Inc., local authorities and OSHA are currently investigating this accident.

The Kansas Highway patrol is investigating a deadly accident in Rooks County.  The accident happened Wednesday afternoon five and a half miles east of Plainville. It happened on a county road just  south of K-18. A dispatcher with the Highway Patrol says the accident involved two pickup trucks, one was pulling a cattle trailer.  The driver of the pickup was killed in the accident. The other driver pulling the cattle trailer was taken to the hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Reno County Sheriff's office said that a motorcyclist had an accident with a deer Monday morning. At 7:15 a.m. a man struck a deer while on his motorcycle in the 25000 Blk S. Brownlee Rd. The man, whose family has not been located yet, is a residence of Reno County and was transported to St Francis Hospital in Wichita by Lifeteam Helicopter for undetermined injuries. The cyclist was wearing a helmet. The motorcyclist's name will be released when family has been notified.

A 14-year-old from WaKeeney dies in an accident Tuesday in Trego County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Anna Mae Bergquist was driving on J Road near 260th around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon when she lost control. Investigators say her car rolled multiple times, and Bergquist was ejected. They say the car rolled on top of the teen. The girl died at the scene. Investigators say she was not wearing a seat belt.

One visitor told us, "It makes me mad because it's preventable...it didn't even have to happen like that. " But it did. And it has people living in the area wondering how safe the road really is. "People just speed by, they don't respect the speed zones and we do need something to start getting done," said Juana Davile.

A pedestrian is hit and killed by an SUV in Goodland late Tuesday night. The accident happened around 10:30 at 17th and Broadway on the Goodland city limits. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a man was driving eastbound on 17th when 46-year-old Jeffrey Badgett walked into the roadway. Badgett died at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.

A head on crash involving a semi in Kingman County has turned deadly. It happened on U.S. 54, about eight miles west of Kingman. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Justin Adams, 31, of Missouri, was driving east on Highway 54, when he lost control on a curve, striking a semi head on. Adams was flown to a Wichita hospital where he later died. The driver of the semi, Lynn Andrews, of Missiouri was not hurt. A passenger, James Meadows, 71, of Missouri, suffered serious injuries.

The body found in a house near 16th and St. Francis on Monday evening is no longer being considered a suspicious death, police said Tuesday. Police said when a call came into 911 dispatch Monday, the caller said a person inside the home was injured. But when police arrived they found a man in his 30s dead. Police said the extent of the man's injuries raised concerns. But now police are saying the man likely died from an accident. The home is currently being remodeled, and investigators say the construction could be related to the accident.

Police have arrested a man in Hays for allegedly hitting a house with a Ford pickup and leaving the scene. Michael A. French, 24, was cited for DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to report an accident. The accident happened at 12:48 a.m. Friday at 2900 Willow. The crash caused considerable damage to the home, but there were no injuries. Officers located the run vehicle in the 300 Blk of E. 33rd St.

A five-year old girl was killed Wednesday evening in a farming accident in Dickinson County. The accident occurred about 5pm in the Manchester area, near 3400 Avenue and Key Road. Dickinson County Sheriff Gareth Hoffman says Brooklyn Debenham was riding in a combine with father.  They hit a bump, the front glass of the cab broke, and the child fell forward through front window into the machine. Emergency crews responded immediately. Brooklyn was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal rollover crash in Western Kansas. A passerby discovered the wreckage about 12:15 Monday morning. Investigators said the crash happened in the southbound lane in the 2100 block of 130th Avenue. The 2003 GMC Yukon was driven by an 18 year-old woman from Gove County. Investigators said the woman apparently lost control of the vehicle rolling numerous times. Deputies said the woman was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.

A rollover accident in Riley county kills one teenager, and injured two others. The Kansas Highway Patrol said it happened in the 11000 block of LK and W Road, about 2 miles northeast of Leonardville, around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Garrett Olson, 19, was driving east when his car went into a skid and entered the ditch. The car struck a rock wall, then turned over. One of the passengers was thrown from the car. Olson was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Several people were hurt after a multi-vehicle accident in Reno County during the morning commute. Crews were called to the scene on east 30th Ave., west of Kent Rd. around 7 a.m. Thursday. The Reno County Sheriff's office said a stopped school bus may have led to the chain reaction accident. The bus stopped in the road to load passengers, but an SUV failed to yield and struck a car. The accident forced the car into another SUV. The driver of the car was flown to a Wichita hospital with head injuries.

A tipster is a thousand dollars richer, after the Crime Stoppers Board voted to approve a reward payment for information leading to the arrests in the hit and run death of a Wichita man. Lloyd Ferguson was killed and a child injured when the horse they were riding was struck by a vehicle July 5 of this year near 21st Street North and Piatt. A memorial remains at the site. Police said a tip to Crime Stoppers in late July led to arrests in the case. Crime Stoppers is a division of the non-profit Wichita Crime Commission.

One person is dead following an accident on U.S. 283 between Minneola and Dodge City. Dispatchers for the Kansas Highway Patrol say the accident occurred around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning when a minivan and commercial vehicle collided. The Kansas Department of Transportation closed the highway while emergency crews worked to clear the scene. The highway has since re-opened. A second person was injured in the accident and taken to Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City for treatment.

Dispatchers are telling drivers to avoid the area around Kellogg and Mid-Continent Drive after a one-car rollover accident. Two people have minor injuries from the accident. Traffic is blocked northbound from westbound Kellogg.
