A 14-year-old from WaKeeney dies in an accident Tuesday in Trego County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Anna Mae Bergquist was driving on J Road near 260th around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon when she lost control. Investigators say her car rolled multiple times, and Bergquist was ejected. They say the car rolled on top of the teen. The girl died at the scene. Investigators say she was not wearing a seat belt.

A north-central Kansas man dies after his riding lawn mower rolls over the weekend. The accident happened Saturday afternoon around 1:30 in rural Concordia. Our news partners at The Salina Journal report that 63-year-old Bob Johnson was mowing on a steep slope in the 1600 block of 160th Rd. The Journal reports that Johnson's mower tipped over and rolled, pinning Johnson underneath. Passing drivers saw what happened and stopped to help. The drivers called 911 and were able to get the mower off of Johnson.

by Robert Marin (BELOIT, Kan.) A 71-year-old woman dies after an accident Tuesday in Beloit. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident happened just before 4:30 at the intersection of U.S. 24 and 8th Street. Map of Location Investigators say 71-year-old Vicky Robertson was trying to cross the highway on 8th, when her car and a truck collided in the intersection. Robertson was taken to Mitchell County Hospital, then flown to a Wichita hospital where she died.

Wichita Police say a biker wrecked his motorcycle after he failed to negotiate a curve. It happened Saturday morning, shortly after midnight near the intersection of Hoover & Pueblo. Police say the 46 year old rider was traveling north on Hoover when he came up on a curve, but continued strait. The driver hit the curb, wrecking his bike. He was transported to Via Christi - St. Francis in critical condition.

A Reno County woman is in critical condition at a Wichita hospital. She was hurt when the SUV she was in collided with a semi near U.S. 50 and Airport Road in Hutchinson. Twenty-four year-old tammy lenz was flown to Wesley Medical Center. Two other people suffered less serious injuries.

A driver suffered serious injuries in a crash at West & K-96 Tuesday. Sedgwick County Sheriffs deputies say the woman was driving westbound on K-96 and exiting onto West street, but did not stop at the stop sign on the off ramp. Her car was struck by a northbound grain truck. Firefighters had to extract the woman and a young girl from the car. The 76-year-old driver was taken by EMS to Via Christi on St. Francis for treatment of potentially critical injuries. The 12-year-old girl was not injured.

A Wichita woman is injured in a Saturday morning accident in Reno County. It happened in the Yoder area on Red Rock Road east of Halstaead Road just after 7:30am. Authorities say the 25-year-old woman was on her way to work in Hutchinson traveling westbound when she turned around and began heading eastbound on K96 for an unknown reason. As she came upon the Red Rock Road overpass she drove off the right side of the road and went down an embankment, then through a drainage ditch.

A child from northwest Kansas dies in an accident in northeast Kansas. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Michael Petersen and his two-year-old son Kyler were driving a semi early this morning on U.S. Highway 36 in Wathena in Doniphan County. Both the father and child are from Rexford in Thomas County. Investigators say, for some reason, the older Petersen left the road and his semi went into a ditch and caught fire. The father was flown to a Missouri hospital, the child died at the scene.

A woman in her 40's is in serious condition after an early Thanksgiving morning crash in west Wichita. The accident happened at 12:30 Thursday morning at 21st and Ridge. Police say the car was speeding on westbound 21st Street when it tried to go north on Ridge. Eyewitnesses say the car went airborne for short distance before hitting a utility pole in the northeast corner of 21st and Ridge. The passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but has been upgraded.

Hutchinson police have identified a man killed Thursday at Superior Boiler Works as 30-year-old Ronald L. Klinkerman, Jr. Emergency crews were called to the facility just before 9:00 Thursday evening. Map: Superior Boiler Works Police say Klinkerman was crushed by a large piece of iron. Another employee found him and was able to remove the metal with a forklift. Klinkerman was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner. The death has been ruled accidental so OSHA is taking over the investigation.
