Clint Bowyer's chance at a NASCAR championship will have to wait another year. The Emporia native appeared to be headed to Homestead, with an outside shot at the title. But instead, an accident caused when Jeff Gordon intentionally wrecked the 15 coming to the white flag, lead to a 28th place finish for Bowyer and officially eliminated him from contention in the chase. "It's crazy, I didn't even need to pass him, I was plenty content riding behind him," said Bowyer. "But he slipped up and I got under him and here he comes back.

Wichita police continue to investigate a deadly accident on 17th Street between Ash and Piatt. A car hit a pedestrian around seven o'clock Friday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene Police identified the man as 49-year-old Michael A. Spires of Wichita. No one else was hurt in the accident.

A 19-year-old woman is critically hurt in car accident. The accident happened on Southwest 170th near Rose Hill Saturday morning. A Butler County Deputy says she was driving too fast on a gravel road when she lost control and hit a tree. No other cars were involved. The woman was taken to Wesley Medical Center. Deputies don't believe the woman was drinking alcohol before the accident.

A man dies after a rollover accident in Rice County. The sheriff's department says the accident happened Wednesday night about two and a half miles east of Little River. They say 34-year-old Brandon Wolf lost control of his suburban and went off the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. They say he was not wearing a seat belt.

A pedestrian is hit and killed by an SUV in Goodland late Tuesday night. The accident happened around 10:30 at 17th and Broadway on the Goodland city limits. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a man was driving eastbound on 17th when 46-year-old Jeffrey Badgett walked into the roadway. Badgett died at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.

Four months after a 6-year-old Wichita girl died at a busy intersection, people who live nearby say nothing has changed. Feodora Two-Hatchett died in June when the car she was riding in was hit by another vehicle at a "high rate of speed. " The crash happened at Mt. Vernon and Edgemoor. Click Here for Scene Photos The speed limit in the area is 35 mph, but residents say drivers routinely go faster than that. Now residents want to see some changes.

A medical condition prompted a person to drive their truck into a Wichita home. The accident happened near Oliver and Kellogg off of Lewis around ten Friday morning. Click here for photos from the scene Police say the driver was northbound on Oliver, near Kellogg when he started to feel light-headed. He told police he was going to pullover and the next thing he knew he had crashed into the house. He crossed the southbound lanes of traffic, hit a fire hydrant, drove over a curb and into the house. The homeowner was sitting on the couch when accident happened. It knocked him off of the couch.

A Wichita couple has called out a man who crashed into their home because he was possibly drunk. They used a sign in their yard to try and convince the man to apologize. The accident happened Saturday evening in the 2900 block of North Keith Court. Click Here to See Accident Photos Amy and Chris Florio woke up after a truck crashed into the front of their house. They say the driver was going close to 60 miles an hour in their neighborhood when the accident happened.

Students, faculty and staff at McPherson College are remembering one of their own. "He loved riding his bike," McPherson College President Michael Schneider says. "I talked to his dad, and his dad said he was doing what he loved to do. " Sophomore Paul Ziegler of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania died Sunday afternoon when he was his bicycle was hit by a vehicle. The crash happened south of McPherson around one o'clock. "He was the best of us," says Dusty Kitchen, a 2012 alumnus and Director of Student Activities and Resident Director of Dotzour Hall.
