Students, faculty and staff at McPherson College are remembering one of their own. "He loved riding his bike," McPherson College President Michael Schneider says.  "I talked to his dad, and his dad said he was doing what he loved to do. " Sophomore Paul Ziegler of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania died Sunday afternoon when he was his bicycle was hit by a vehicle. The crash happened south of McPherson around one o'clock. "He was the best of us," says Dusty Kitchen, a 2012 alumnus and Director of Student Activities and Resident Director of Dotzour Hall.

Witnesses say a man was speeding right before he wrecked his motorcycle. It happened Saturday afternoon, near the intersection of Rock Road & 63rd St. South, near Derby. Sedgwick County Sheriff's deputies say the man was heading east on 63rd street south when he lost control.  The rider was ejected from the bike, which jumped a curb and came to a stop in the fence line. Deputies say the man was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

A lizard may have caused a car crash late Friday afternoon.  The accident left the driver with serious injuries after he drove into a pole. When police arrived, they pulled the reptile out of the car.  Eyewitnesses say the man was speeding before the crash at Seneca and Stillwell.  They also say he was slumped over. The sheriff's office says the lizard was running around loose in the car.  "I don't believe, they're not an illegal reptile to have. I don't know if that played into a factor.

One person was flown to a Wichita hospital following an accident in Chautauqua County. Dispatchers tell Eyewitness News a motor home collided with another vehicle, just north of Cedar Vale, at Road 2 & 166. Dispatchers say three people were involved in the accident. They did not have conditions on any of the patients.

Two people are killed in two separate accidents on U.S. 281 in central Kansas Sunday. The first crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the junction of U.S. 281 and K-4 west of Hoisington in Barton County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Richard Newick of Great Bend was driving south on Highway 281 when he ran at stop sign at the junction with K-4. Newick's car collided with a car going west on K-4. Newick was taken to a hospital where he died; the driver of the other car was critically hurt and transferred to a Wichita hospital.

A Reno County woman is in critical condition at a Wichita hospital. She was hurt when the SUV she was in collided with a semi near U.S. 50 and Airport Road in Hutchinson. Twenty-four year-old tammy lenz was flown to Wesley Medical Center. Two other people suffered less serious injuries.

Wichita police responded to several accidents Thursday afternoon. The accidents are believed to be weather-related. Rain has fallen in Wichita for most of the day. Police responded to accidents at 37th & Hillside, 47th St. S. & K-15, 47th St. S. & Clifton and Kellogg & Webb. There are no reports of serious injuries with these crashes. Drivers are urged to use caution when driving in wet conditions.

A Hutchinson child is in fair condition after being hit by a van.  The Reno County Sheriff says the accident happened around noon Sunday. He says the 3-year-old was on a parked pick up truck in the 100 block of West 10th Avenue.  Around that time, a woman was traveling eastbound on West 10th.  That's when the boy climbed off of the pickup and into traffic.  He was struck by the right vendor of the woman's van. An accident, then a fight stops traffic on a busy Wichita road. A car and a motorcycle were merging onto westbound Kellogg earlier tonight, when they crashed into each other. This happened near Hydraulic, just west of I-135. The motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A pair of fights broke out at the scene, first between other bikers and the driver of the car. Then again when family members arrived on the scene. One person was arrested. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

An Arkansas City man is killed after an accident in Cowley County Sunday. It happened right around midnight just southeast of Arkansas City. Authorities say49-year-old  Bret Clark was southbound in a grass field when he lost control of his jeep and rolled. Clark was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to an Ark City hospital where he was pronounced dead.
