Clouds will be sticking around overnight with dry conditions statewide. Behind a cold front, overnight lows will drop into the 20s across the western Kansas, with upper 30s in the Wichita area. North winds are expected to die down through the night. Friday looks mostly cloudy again with highs in the low to mid 50s. Dry weather is expected in Kansas with north winds under 20 mph. The upcoming weekend will bring bigger changes. Saturday will be dry with highs in the 40s and 50s. But Saturday night into Sunday, Mother Nature will bring a chance for a few flurries or pockets of light snow along with strong north winds.

Our string of mild December days is about to end as a cold front slides across Kansas Thursday ushering cooler temps, gusty northerly winds, more clouds but only a few sprinkles. Afternoon highs Thursday will range from around 50 over the northwest corner of Kansas to the lower 60s southeast. Our cooling trend will continue through early next week as highs dip into the 40s and 50s Friday then tumble into the 30s by Sunday and Monday. Another front and very strong storm system will sweep out into our region from the west Sunday bringing decent rain and snow chances our way. Timing at this point in time remains a bit of a challenge but moisture could move into northwest Kansas as early as Saturday night then spread eastward Sunday into Monday.

Stronger southerly winds and slightly warmer temperatures will return again Wednesday along with areas of high clouds. Our highs will climb back into the low to mid-60s for hump day with no rain in sight through Saturday. A cold front will move across Kansas Thursday ushering in more clouds but no rain. The front will draw cooler weather into our area as highs Friday and Saturday dip into the 40s and lower 50s. Yet another front and storm system will slowly swing out into our region Sunday and finally bring some decent rain and snow chances our way. The moisture could move into the northwest as early as Saturday night then slowly spread eastward Sunday into Monday.

Look for mostly sunny skies this afternoon and even though there won't be any more record highs, temperatures will be well above normal as highs top out in the upper 50s to lower 60s statewide. Winds will also be much lighter today than those wicked gusts some of us endured Monday. Stronger southerly winds and warmer temperatures will return again Wednesday along with increasing clouds. Afternoon highs will climb back above 60 for our hump day and but still no rain in sight through Friday.

Temperatures were a little cooler across Kansas today, even with abundant sunshine. We will see a few high level clouds overnight with lows dipping into the 20s and 30s. Mostly sunny skies and a return of south winds will push high temperatures on Wednesday into the 60s statewide. A cold front will move across the state on Thursday bringing a few more clouds but still no rain. Temperatures will take another dip on Friday and Saturday. The next storm system to affect our area will finally bring some chances for moisture beginning in the northwest on Saturday night and slowly spreading eastward Sunday into Monday.

This week looks warm for early December even though two cold fronts will be crossing Kansas over the next few days. The first cold front of the week will push out of the southeast corner of Kansas Monday evening shifting winds around to the north. Look for partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies over our area and gusty north winds. Monday's highs will range from the mid-60s west, to the lower 70s across the southeast. Temperatures will only be a but cooler Tuesday along with lighter winds and mostly sunny skies; highs will be in the lower 60s. Another, stronger, cold front will come our way later this week setting us up for colder weather heading into the second weekend of December.

Kansas will continue to see mild weather for the rest of the week as the weather pattern is not likely to change. Skies will be turning mostly clear overnight in western Kansas, but more clouds expected in central and eastern Kansas. Lows will be in the mid 20s west, with mid 30s near Wichita. The north winds will be going down overnight. Skies will be mostly sunny on Tuesday and although no record highs are forecast, temperatures will be well above normal. Highs will be near 60 for much of the state with light winds throughout the day. Stronger south winds and warmer temperatures will return on Wednesday with increasing clouds.

Still on track for a few record highs today. Mainly in Wichita and Salina. Highs will be in the 70s statewide. These temperatures are well above normal for early December, which is upper 40s. Breezy winds will develop over western Kansas by afternoon. Increasing clouds and patchy areas of fog are possible in eastern Kansas tonight. Overnight lows will be in the 30s west with 40s and 50s to the east. A cold front will move through Kansas on Monday, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and gusty northwest winds. The front will not move through south central Kansas until late afternoon, so another warm day on tap to start the work week. Elsewhere it will be cooler with highs in the upper 50s and 60s. Mild and dry weather will continue through Thursday. The next weather system is set to roll in towards the end of the work week, giving Kansas at least a slim chance of rain, some snowflakes too and much cooler (more seasonable)
