Authorities say Jessica Tata took off to Nigeria. She faces reckless injury charges after a fire broke out in her day care home and killed four children. Investigators say Tata wasn't home at the time of the fire.  They say surveillance video shows her shopping at Target at the time. The fire started because a burner on the stove was left on. Tata is a native of Nigeria.  Authorities say they're working on getting her back to the U.S.

Sedgwick County authorities hope you can help them identify a woman whose skull was found in 2011. The skull was found in a creek bed in the 10000 block of S. 343rd Street West. Since then, the skull has been inspected by an anthropology expert and a forensic dentist. They determined the skull was that of an African American woman between 16 and 22 years old and that she died anywhere between one and ten years before the discovery. A month after the skull was found, anthropology students toured the area where the skull was found.

A Baxter Springs man will spend the rest of his life in prison for raping a teenage girl.  69-year-old Steve White won't be eligible for parole for 25 years. The Baxter Springs man was charged with raping a 13-year-old girl in Butler County.  Authorities say  he  was leasing some land in rural Butler County, back in 2007, that he used to train horses, give riding lesson and board horses. That's when the 13 year-old says the incident happened. Butler County Sheriff Kelly Herzet says the victim waited more than two years before telling her parents, who then told authorities.

Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a bank in Cimarron Monday.  The robbery happened around 11:40 at the Credit Union of Dodge  City on Main Street in Cimarron. Police say the suspect showed a gun inside the bank and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No one was injured during the robbery. The suspect is described as a white male, about 5'10" with a medium build.  He was wearing dark colored plastic sunglasses, a fake beard that covered most of his face and a hooded sweatshirt.

An inmate who walked away from a work detail assignment is back in custody.  Authorities were looking for Juan Marquez who left his job at the Collins Bus Company. He walked away Tuesday afternoon.  Authorities captured him a short time later. Marquez is serving time at Hutchinson Correctional Facility on several burglary and theft charges.

Adam Herrman hasn't been seen since 1999. Investigators started looking for him after a tip to the Wichita/Sedgwick County's Exploited and Missing Child Unit in early 2009. Authorities have been searching for clues into his disappearance, but haven't released any information about what they found.  Butler County authorities have launched a nationwide search for Adam.

A Reno County man drove into a home in the 14300 block of East 82nd street. Henry Zelenka, of Hutchinson, Kan. was driving on 82nd street when he became ill. Witnesses say the SUV drove off the road, into a ditch, and then struck the back of a home. He was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries. Authorities say the home sustained extensive damage

Three thousand cultivated marijuana plants were found and destroyed in Greenwood County, just east of Beaumont, authorities said. The pot had an approximate value of $3 million, Greenwood County Sheriff Rusty Bitler said. Bitler told Eyewitness News it appears illegal immigrants from Mexico are responsible for planting the marijuana in secluded areas across six square miles on both sides of U.S. Highway 400.  Bitler said there are signs the immigrants had been living on scene and caring for the plants since the spring.  The growers were all gone by the time authorities got there yesterday.

Authorities in Great Bend are investigating a suspicious device brought into the Great Bend Police Department.  Chief Dean Akings says there was no threat made and authorities are in the process of evaluating the device to see what it is. Akings says the device was moved to another location.  No one was evacuated from the police department.

By Kim Wilhelm (WICHITA, Kan.) Butler County Sheriff Craig Murphy says his office is working with more than 70 tips concerning the disappearance of Adam Herrman. The Butler County boy was last seen in 1999 but authorities only recently learned the boy was missing.   Derby resident Andi Roe called authorities when she realized Adam had been her childhood neighbor. Roe says she remembers seeing Adam a few times and describes the Herrman family as nice. Roe didn't know if her information would help investigators but she wanted to offer it anyway.
