An inmate who walked away from a work detail assignment is back in custody.  Authorities were looking for Juan Marquez who left his job at the Collins Bus Company. He walked away Tuesday afternoon.  Authorities captured him a short time later. Marquez is serving time at Hutchinson Correctional Facility on several burglary and theft charges.

A Garden City man was charged with second degree murder after a deadly stabbing on Saturday. Authorities in Dodge City and Fort County were called to the Western Plains Regional Hospital after two people showed up with stab wounds. One of them, a 22-year-old man from Garden City, was admitted in critical condition and later died. The other man, 52-year-old Alfredo Gasca-Aldama was treated and then charged. Police did not release any information on the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Cowley County authorities are searching for suspects accused of robbing a newspaper delivery man, armed. It happened in the 300 block of Williams St. in Rock around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday. The 51-year-old man managed to call 911 to report that he had been robbed. The victim said two men with a gun told him to lie on the ground. They then took his wallet and cell phone and drove off in a red sports car. The suspects are believed to be white men in their 20s. The sheriff's office said one suspect is described as being 6' to 6'5" tall, last seen wearing a plaid, flannel jacket or coat and blue jeans.

By Kim Wilhelm (WICHITA, Kan.) Butler County Sheriff Craig Murphy says his office is working with more than 70 tips concerning the disappearance of Adam Herrman. The Butler County boy was last seen in 1999 but authorities only recently learned the boy was missing.   Derby resident Andi Roe called authorities when she realized Adam had been her childhood neighbor. Roe says she remembers seeing Adam a few times and describes the Herrman family as nice. Roe didn't know if her information would help investigators but she wanted to offer it anyway.

Authorities have found a missing Sumner Country girl. Eleven-year-old Devan Martens was found safe in a park in Belle Plain. ----------------------------- Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding an 11-year-old girl from Wellington. Devan Martens was last seen walking eastbound on Highway 160 around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. She's 5'5" tall, about 150 pounds with shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a white T-shirt and black gym shorts.

Wichita firefighters battle a fire at a Southeast Wichita home. The blaze broke out around 4:15 Tuesday afternoon near Pawnee and Bedford.  Map - Location of Fire Authorities had to block off the streets at 127th and Pawnee and Greenwich and Pawnee as they tried to get things under control. No one was home when the fire broke out. However. authorities tell us that a couple of pets were lost in the fire including a pitbull.

Authorities in Reno County believe alcohol may have been a factor in an early morning crash that sent one person to the hospital. It happened around 2:00 Wednesday morning.  Authorities tell us the 36-year-old driver from Haven was headed east on Red Rock Road near Mayfield Road whens he swerved to miss something in the road and rolled her 2003 Chevy Suburban into a ditch. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

A Leawood man with dementia who went missing on Saturday has been found. Authorities issued a Silver Alert Protocol for Zakaryan. He was found in the Kansas City, Missouri area and is said to be safe and in good health. Ara Zakaryan, 83, was last seen around 4 pm Satuday on I-70, near mile marker 221.  That's in Ellsworth County, at the Lincoln and K-14 exit.  He was heading west. Authorities said he may had been lost and disoriented.

Authorities in western Kansas are trying to figure out who damaged hundreds of headstones at a cemetery. It happened at the Beulah Cemetery in Colby. Police Chief Randy Jones tells us 168 headstones were knocked over or damaged. Cleanup at the cemetery should begin on Monday.  A monument company was called in to start resetting the stones. County officials say  they would appreciate any volunteers who want to help. The chief says families who have seen the damage are upset and don't know why someone would do it. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them.

Police in Oklahoma found a missing El Dorado man. Authorities say 80-year-old Donald Brickley disappeared Saturday morning. His family said he left his home on Bluestem road in a pick-up truck. Brickley suffers from dementia. He was found in Oklahoma around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
