For the sixth-straight year, the Kansas men's basketball team will make four appearances on ESPN's Big Monday, as announced by the Big 12 Conference Thursday. KU will be featured on ESPN's Big Monday on Jan. 16 versus Baylor, Jan. 23 versus Texas A&M, Feb. 13 at Kansas State and Feb. 27 at Oklahoma State. The Jayhawks have played the Cowboys in a Big Monday contest five times in the past eight seasons, have faced Kansas State three times and have taken on Baylor twice during the Big 12 era. Since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996-97, Kansas is 41-16 all-time on ESPN's Big Monday (23-1 at home, 18-15 on the road)

On a night when K-State needed a win in the worst way, they turned to an unlikey source to get it. Shooting a season high 81 percent, the 'Cats outscored Baylor by 8 points at the free throw line in a 69-61 win over the Bears. After leading by seven at the half, K-State trailed briefly early in the second half only to take back the lead on an 11-1 run. Baylor would get as close as five late, but the 'Cats closed them out at the line. Freshman Will Spradling hit all nine of his free throws on the way to 17 points, which matched teammate Jacob Pullen for game high honors.

Baylor entered the rankings at No. 25 for the first time since 1993 after beating Kansas State, and also became eligible to end a 16-year bowl drought. Heady stuff around campus in Waco. The Bears' appearance in the AP poll Sunday is their first since Sept. 5, 1993, when they were ranked 24th after opening the season with a 42-39 win over then-No. 25 Fresno State. Baylor (6-2, 3-1 Big 12) held off Kansas State 47-42 on homecoming weekend Saturday behind Robert Griffin's 404 yards passing and Jay Finley's school-record 250 rushing yards.

K-State added a touchdown in the final seconds of the ballgame but come up short today in Waco. With the loss the Cats fall to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference. K-State returns home to take on No. 14 Oklahoma State (6-1, 2-1) next Saturday. The Cowboys fell 51-41 at home to No. 16 Nebraska today. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. --------------------------------------------------------------------- K-State is staying with the Bears after Daniel Thomas connects with Aubrey Quarles for a 67 yard touchdown pass, making it a two score ball game, 47-35.

It didn’t turn out to be the homecoming they wanted for the 38 Texas natives on the University of Kansas football roster, as the Jayhawks fell 55-7 to Baylor Saturday afternoon at Floyd Casey Stadium. Kansas fell to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the Big 12 while Baylor improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league. In an ugly game full of penalties and turnovers, Kansas finished with 271 total yards compared to 678 for Baylor. After committing just one turnover in the last three games, KU coughed the ball up four times against the Bears.
