Several tips lead to the arrest of two people accused of burglary at an Andover convenience store. On July 8, 2010, at 4:30 in the morning, Andover police officers responded to a burglary alarm at a convenience store. Surveillance video shows about ten minutes earlier, a white four door passenger car, possibly an Oldsmobile, pulled up to the store. The video shows a white male and white female shooting the glass door. Once inside, the female took at least one case of beer while the male shot one of the cash registers.

A fire that occurred Tuesday is being investigated as arson and a burglary according to Captain Stuart Bevis with the Wichita Fire Department. Crews worked to put out the fire located at 2200 block of South Stoneybrook yesterday morning at about 10 a.m.. A Wichita Police report says that someone went in through the front door and stole two television sets. The suspect also caused heavy damage to one room upstairs in the house. Damage is estimated at $100,000: $75,000 to the structure of the home and $25,000 for the contents.

The man accused of breaking into several Reno county homes could be in court as early as Tuesday to hear the charges against him. The Reno County attorney's office filed 17 counts against Tom Goin, including multiple burglary and theft charges. Deputies arrested Goin last week when an investigator saw a suspicious car in the area. Goin led deputies on a chase through north and west Hutchinson. They eventually found him hiding in a bush.

The Reno County Sheriff's Department credits an observant deputy and good investigation for nabbing three suspects in connection with several car burglaries in the Homefield Housing Addition south of 4th & Obee.  Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson says deputies were able to identify two suspects in a stolen credit card case based on surveillance video from two stores.  That led officers to a home in the 300 block of W. 12th Street in Hutchinson...

Wichita police say a drunk 16-year-old burglary suspect wasn't hard to find...thanks to neighbors who watched the whole thing happen. It all started early Saturday morning in the 1400 block of N. Market.  Police say the suspect broke a window out of a business, setting off the alarm. Neighbors called 911 after hearing the alarm.  They then watched as the boy grabbed items and smashed windows of other busineses.  Officers showed up as he was went into a third business.  He was uncooperative and police used a taser to subdue him.

Wichita police say a resident's good timing may have helped thwart burglars in his neighborhood.  It happened in the 1050 block of Balthrop. Police tell us the man came home and found two TVs and other stolen items in his back yard.  He believes he saw two suspects running away. He called police.  Officers found someone had broken into a neighbor's home by throwing a brick through the window.  The woman who lives in the other house came over and identified her items, which were returned.

  A group of mostly teenagers are in jail - after breaking into a elderly couple's home and trashing the place. They got caught after they started shooting off guns they stole from the home in a Wichita neighborhood. The elderly couple that owns the home is out of town. A neighbor was watching their home when officers tell us a grandson of that neighbor stole the key and broke into the home.  Officers say three teenage boys and a young man vandalized the place, drawing graffiti and puncturing holes in the walls.

Wichita police arrest two men accused of burglarizing a home overnight.  It all started just before midnight in the 2800 block of S. Custer.  Police say a mother and daughter came home and found two people in the house gathering electronics and other belongings.  The two suspects were startled and took off carrying a red duffel bag, but leaving behind a stack of electronics...and their getaway car. Police set up a stakeout, figuring someone...

Prosecutors charged the man shot by a Sumner County homeowner earlier this week.  Jason Confer is charged with aggravated burglary, attempt to commit robbery and attempt to commit theft. Earlier this week, a Mulvane homeowner shot Confer.  Investigators say the homeowner woke up to sounds coming from his garage. When he went to his garage he found an intruder inside. The homeowner held the intruder at gunpoint while his wife called 911. That's when the thief attacked the homeowner.

Update: Authorities in Harvey County have identified the suspects they believe are responsible for several burglaries in the southeastern part of the county. Investigators with the sheriff's office say they plan to release more information soon. ----------------- Original Story, November 29 The Harvey County Sheriff's Department is asking for help after burglars ransack several homes in the middle of the day.  Five burglaries this week and it doesn't surprise Harvey County Undersheriff Todd Hanchett.
