The field was harvested by the friends and family members of a man named Mike Weber. He died of cancer this past winter, and they decided to harvest it as a way of saying thank you. "He always took everybody else's feelings and thoughts before his own," said his brother Jerry. "He was an awesome person, he died way too young we lost him just way too young because there was a lot he could still give back to the community," said his sister Jane Duvall Mike's friends say he would be the first to organize similar cuts for friends who experienced a loss, and would help without having to be asked twice.

I can't stop thinking about a man I never met. I knew him only through Twitter, he followed me and I followed him back. He seemed to know a lot about computers, offering help when others asked. And every once in a while he tweeted about his health. That's the first time I responded to him, commenting on the outcome of a hospital visit. And now, he's gone. I found that out through Twitter. My husband doesn't understand Twitter or Facebook. He asks, "what do people write on there, just what they're doing?"

Update: WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Kennedy is awake and being evaluated at Washington Hospital Center . by Sarah Kallail Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D) Massachusetts, collapses and is taken by stretcher from an inauguration luncheon for President Barack Obama. A Capitol police officer stood up at the luncheon and said medical attention was needed. Kennedy was diagnosed with cancer this summer, after doctors found a malignant tumor in his brain. A new scam is targeting the elderly. It starts with a phone call. The scammer tells the victim, they are the winner of a sweep states. But to claim their prize money they need to send in money to cover the taxes on the winnings. In the case of Norman Breidenbaugh, he was told he was the winner of $2.5 million. But before he could receive his prize, he would have to send in $2,000 to cover the taxes. It was a scam that nearly cost him everything...

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain had his own German experience Thursday - at a restaurant in Ohio. He asserted that he was happy to devote his time this week to touring the nation's heartland. "I'd love to give a speech in Germany. But I'd much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate for president," McCain told reporters after a meal of bratwurst with local business leaders at Schmidt's Sausage Haus und Restaurant in Columbus' German Village neighborhood.

Today I'm sharing David's cancer journey. David Oliver is a University of Missouri medical school professor who is going through chemotherapy for treatable, but not curable cancer. Oliver decided to turn his experiences into a teachable moment, making video updates on everything he's going through, including side effects of chemo.
