A Great Bend man dies after his car collides with a truck Thursday near Larned. The crash happened on K-156 just one mile west of Larned. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a man in a truck was driving west on the highway and slowed down to make a  turn. The driver of an eastbound car hit the truck as it made the turn. The driver of the truck was taken to a Pawnee County hospital with a possible injury. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital where he died. The driver of the car has been identified as 47-year-old Ricky Perez of Great Bend.

Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident near Volutsia and Mossman in northeast Wichita. Paramedics took a two-year-old to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. The hospital is just a few blocks from the scene of the crash. Authorities say the child was hit by a car just after six o'clock Friday night. As of Saturday night the child still remains in critical condition.

Two Colby residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday night. Kansas Highway Patrol troopers say their pickup was westbound on U.S Highway 24, just west of Thomas County Road 24 when it tried to pass another vehicle late Monday night. The driver of the pickup, Brady Robert Rundel, 21, lost control.  The truck spun into a ditch and rolled.  Both Rundel, and his passenger, Dalen Jo Schlageck, 21, were thrown out of the truck. Rundel was taken to the Thomas County Medical Center.

A Washburn University football player has been killed in a car accident. Washburn football coach Craig Schurig said on the university's web site Saturday that 18-year-old Jermon Watson, of St. Louis, Mo., has died of injuries from the one-car accident Friday. The accident occurred in the Kansas City area. Watson was a defensive end/linebacker who played high school football at Rockwood Summit High School in the St. Louis area. Schurig said he was very sad about the loss and that Watson was an "outstanding young player who did great in the classroom.

Part of k-96 is shut down for about an hour Wednesday night. Emergency crews worked a four car accident. It happened about nine o'clock on K-96 near Woodlawn. A 911 dispatcher tells eyewitness news that one victim has critical injuries. The roadway reopened around 10:30pm.

  A fatal car accident occurred around 2:00AM on Irving Street. The man was in his early 20's and was driving at high speeds. Police say that the man drifted and struck a semi trailer flatbed head-on and was killed instantly. There was one passenger in the car treated for minor injuries. Police say high speed and alcohol were a factor in the fatal accident.

A former Wichita State baseball player and his family saw their brand new home for the first time Thursday. It was revealed by the crew of the Extreme Home Makeover show. The crew and volunteers worked for days on the new home in southwest Wichita. Carl Hall is a WSU alum, and was the Missouri Valley player of the year in 1994. He was paralyzed in a car accident last summer.

A 21-year-old man is killed after a car accident in Gray County. James Kellner of Montezuma was driving his truck northbound on County Road 9 Saturday afternoon when he hit another oncoming truck going southbound. Kellner was not wearing a seat belt. Two people in the other vehicle did not suffer any injuries.

McPherson police responded to a single car accident in the 1000 block West Woodside Thursday afternoon. Eyewitnesses say the car was speeding when it hit the railing of a bridge. The driver, a 28-year-old Spencer Cameron Dale Feltman died at the scene. No one else was involved in the crash.

An 18-year-old is dead after a one car accident in Dickinson County. He was a passenger in the car. It happened early Saturday morning at the Clay-Dickinson county line, 12 miles north of Chapman. Authorities say that the car was northbound on Sage Road when it approached an intersection.  It drove through the intersection and into a ditch then struck an embankment. The vehicle caught fire. The driver and two other teens were were in the car. Two were taken to a Topeka hospital.
