It's not a white Christmas Eve in Wichita--the day was sunny and mild.  But shoppers were storming the stores. "Just picking up a few last-minute decorations for the tree," Louise Joyce says. "I broke the bank!" exclaims Karla Colbert.  "I had a good time today!" At 3:30 p.m. at Bradley Fair the parking lot was packed. "It was great," Catherine Lewis says.  "I would do it again next year.  I got fifty percent off everything.  I was great!" For a lot of retailers this last shopping rush caps off a month-long effort to make up for a sluggish year.  And now those who took advantage of the last shopping day before Christmas can relax and enjoy the holiday.

Last minute shopping could be a stressful experience but not for some shoppers in Wichita. The employees at the Nifty Nut House know it can be boring to wait in line. So on Christmas Eve they danced throughout the day to keep customers entertained. Many come in to buy nuts or even a box of chocolates for that last person on their list. It's an experience that the manager of the store thinks should always be fun. The employees dance routine lasts about four minutes.

A brick was all it took to break into a Wichita store.  It was all it took to steal jewelry and gifts from Sacred Heart Gift Shop.  But that brick and those thieves' actions weren't about to steal the owner's Christmas spirit. "I always have my Christmas spirit," says Sheri Ramirez.  Ramirez has been running the gift shop near downtown for years.  Thieves are not going to stop her.  "I've got a lot of good customers that support me and I'm here to stay," she says. Ramirez considers her customers, and their support, her blessings on this Christmas Eve.   After hearing about the vandalism and theft, they were there for her. "People are coming to buy," she says.  "I know it's the last day right before Christmas, I know everybody has their gifts by now. " The theft was frustrating.  Ramirez admits that as a small business owner she often struggles and that she works hard for what she has.  "For somebody to come and steal from me, it's very devastating.

The Ford County Sheriff has identified the victim of a deadly shooting northwest of Dodge City. Hunters found the body of 24-year-old Pedro Morales Christmas Eve morning. Detectives believe he was killed nearby, but are still trying to figure out when. Investigators say an unregistered 2006 Dodge Stratus they found in the area could hold clues in the case. They're also looking for three people of interest who may know something about the shooting -- but may be on the run.
