He called to ask how to register the truck he was driving only to learn it was stolen. It was the last stop on a long road from Hillsboro to Coffeyville for one pick-up. The City of Hillsboro has been looking for its stolen truck for months. "When we drive to and from places, we're always looking at the white pickups. You know, does that have a label on it?" explained Hillsboro City Administrator Larry Paine. The story started in the electrical shop in Hillsboro. That's where thieves broke in last June and stole over $60,000 worth of copper wiring, tools and protective gear, piled it all into the truck sitting the parking bay and took off with the lot of it. City workers searched, but found nothing. Police did the same. The truck was missing. Until a phone call last week.

The typically explosive offense of the top-ranked Butler Grizzlies was absent at the worst possible time, falling 13-12 to Navarro College in the NJCAA national title game. The game was a defensive effort all game as neither team scored until the second half. Navarro (11-1) scored first when Depauldrick Garrett scored from short yardage to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead in the third quarter. Butler's Zach Mettenberger connected on a touchdown pass to Connor Combes to almost tie things up, but they went for the two point conversion and missed, to trail 7-6. The Grizzlies have struggled in the kicking game since the Coffeyville game in November and have gone for two since then.
