Brandon Weeden threw for a school record 502 yards and four touchdowns, and Joseph Randle scored the final, tiebreaking 23-yard touchdown with 2:16 remaining to lift No. 3 Oklahoma State to a 52-45 victory against No. 17 Kansas State on Saturday night. The Cowboys (9-0, 6-0 Big 12) matched the best start in school history and survived quite a scare from K-State (7-2, 4-2), which had three shots at the end zone in the final 12 seconds. Collin Klein missed on 5-yard passes intended for Tyler Locketta and Chris Harper and then overshot Tramaine Thompson in the end zone as time expired.

John Hubert is the No. 1 running back for Kansas State, even though quarterback Collin Klein may be the Wildcats' No. 1 rushing option. Hubert has emerged as a valuable complement to Klein this season, going over 100 yards rushing each of the first two games. He will try to make it three straight Saturday when the 15th-ranked Wildcats face North Texas. Hubert doesn't receive nearly as many accolades as Klein, who had 27 touchdowns rushing last season. But all of those scores would not have been possible if Hubert wasn't powering his way down field on every offensive possession.

For the first time since 2000, the Kansas State Wildcats have a 6-0 record. The Wildcats defeated Texas Tech tonight 41-31 in Lubbock. Once heir apparent to Heisman Trophy finalist Collin Klein, Kansas State quarterback Daniel Sams will face some serious competition thanks to the signing of junior college transfer Jake Waters. Out of all 32 members of the recruiting class announced by Kansas State on Wednesday, Waters might spark the most interest. He directed Iowa Western Community College to a national championship last season, passing for 3,501 yards. Prior to Waters' commitment, many had considered Sams the favorite for the starting job in 2013.

In a league of high-powered offenses that love to air it out, Kansas State is a misfit. The No. 7 Wildcats would prefer, in the words of Kansas coach Charlie Weis, to "ram it down your throat every single play. " But an improved passing game has allowed the Wildcats to be more balanced, and that's made them even more difficult to stop than last season. They've already thrown for 758 yards through four games, an increase of nearly 50 percent over last year, and quarterback Collin Klein is completing about 70 percent of his throws.

Collin Klein arrived in New York City early Saturday via train looking a little worn out from a whirl wind week that included stops in Orlando, Baltimore and the Big Apple. I'm sure Klein would rather be back in his Manhattan breaking down tape of Oregon, but for now he's repping K-State - and who better to do it? Robert Griffin III threw his first interception at exactly the wrong time. Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown picked off Baylor's star quarterback in the closing minutes Saturday, setting up Anthony Cantele's 31-yard field goal that sent the Wildcats to a stunning 36-35 win over the No. 15 Bears. Collin Klein threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns and added 113 yards and another score for the Wildcats (4-0), who won their third straight Big 12 opener - this one in dramatic fashion.
