Nickelback is coming to Wichita. The band will perform at INTRUST Bank Arena on Friday, June 8. Tickets are $89.50, $79.50, $59.50 and $39.50 (with additional fees). Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 21 at ten o'clock at the arena box office and Select-a-Seat.  This is the first North American arena tour for the band in two years. Special guests Bush, Seether and My Darkest Days, join Nickelback on all tour dates.  Nickelback is expected to perform songs from the recently released seventh studio album, Here And Now, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 following its November 21, 2011 release on Roadrunner Records.

It seems I've talked about jazz an awful lot lately but that's because there is some good stuff happening right here in Wichita!  So here I am again to tell you about another incredible concert you don't want to miss.  This Sunday, October 23 Joe Lovano and Us Five will be coming to Wichita to play at Abode Venue. The concert will feature Joe Lovano, James Weidman, 2011 Best New Artist Grammy Winner Esparanza Spalding, Francicso Mela and Otis Brown III. Also jazz duet Beau Jarvis and Randy Zellers, both of which are Friends University Fine Arts Jazz Faculty members, will be playing in the gallery during the VIP reception from 6pm - 7pm. The up side to this concert is that only 250 tickets will be sold, so this will truly be an intimate evening.

Kansas is celebrating its 150 th birthday on Saturday, October 8 th . Wichita will host a Kansas Sunflower Parade; a fair with historic reenactors, and Kansas attractions and vendors of food, arts and cultural products. The events will conclude with a “Home on the Range” concert that tells the history of Kansas in song, poetry and video.  People from across the state are welcome to join in the celebration. Towns, cities, high schools, universities, civic organizations, companies and reenactors are invited to put floats and marching units in the Kansas Sunflower Parade to show off their unique part of Kansas' history and heritage.

Hartman Arena announced Wednesday afternoon that the rest of Miranda Cosgrove's tour has been cancelled after a bus accident on August 12. That was the same day Cosgrove - the star of iCarly - was scheduled to perform at Hartman Arena. The arena sent out a press release quoting Cosgrove's website as saying "Due to the severe ankle injury she suffered in a bus accident last week, Miranda Cosgrove has to cancel the rest of her tour to take the time to properly recover, per doctor's order.

Press release from Hartman Arena: Singer Miranda Cosgrove's scheduled concert for Friday, August 12 at Hartman Arena has been postponed after the singer was injured in a tour bus accident in Illinois. The rescheduled date will likely be announced tomorrow. Teen Sensation Cody Simpson will still take the stage to do a free show for those who have tickets to tomorrow night's performance. Show time, set-up, and seating assignments will remain the same. Owner of Hartman Arena, Wink Hartman adds “We never want to disappoint kids but in this instance it was beyond our control.

The City of Wichita announced details of this year's Wichita Flight Festival.  The 2011 Festival is set for August 20 & 21 at Jabara Airport. The theme for the two-day festival is "Fun of Flight" and will air acts from around the nation, a kid's zone, food concourse, radio-controlled demonstrations and a Fly Market vendor and education area. Another highlight is the Twilight Air Show and concert for Saturday night. All daytime activities are free. Admission to the Twilight Air Show & Concert is $5 and advance tickets are available through www.wichitatix.com.

Hutchinson, Kan. – The Kansas State Fair has confirmed Kool & The Gang – known for funky R&B hits such as “Celebration” and “Get Down On It” – for a Saturday, Sept. 10 performance at the U.S. Cellular Grandstand. Tickets for Kool & the Gang will go on sale June 29 at 8 a.m. Pop band Hot Chelle Rae rounds out the lineup with an opening performance for Big Time Rush’s concert on Sunday, Sept. 18.Tickets for Big Time Rush with Hot Chelle Rae are on sale now. Veteran classic rock band, Foreigner, will be streaming to a computer near you. According to a posting on the band's website, the "Jukebox Heroes" will be streaming its concerts, while opening for Journey, the from its website for free. If you're hoping that these shows will look like a home concert video, you're out of luck. Instead, the band is setting up a single camera in the center of the venue. The band says on its website, www.foreigneronline.com , that the reason for the static shot "was to recreate the experience of attending an actual concert with one vantage point, just like your seats.
