The Wichita State Shocker baseball team defeated Air Force in Eck Stadium 3-2 on Tuesday. The second game on Wednesday also swayed in the Shockers' favor. After an intense eight innings, the Shockers put up three runs to defeat the Falcons and sweep the series 4-1. It was also a big day at the plate for freshman outfielder Joe Haddox. He went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. The Shockers earned the first run of the game in the fourth inning. Senior Johnny Coy led off with a double down the left field line.

The schedule for the Wichita State-Delaware baseball series has been changed to allow fans to attend the baseball and men's basketball games on Sat., Feb. 23. The Shockers will now play a doubleheader on Fri., Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at Eck Stadium and a single game at 1 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 23. Sunday's game remains at 1 p.m.

The Wichita State baseball team defeated Bradley, 1-0, in ten innings on an Erik Harbutz game-winning RBI single on Saturday afternoon at Eck Stadium. Kris Gardner pitched 8.1 innings, only allowing four hits, no runs, and striking out four in a no decision effort. Cale Elam got the win for the Shockers, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing no hits, no runs and striking out three. Erik Harbutz went 1-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. Bradley threatened in third, but Mikel Mucha would not allow the Braves to get on the board when he made a great throw from left field to throw out David Compitello at home.

Seven Shockers had multi-hit games to lead the Wichita State baseball team to a 13-3 win over Dallas Baptist in the first game of a three-game series on Friday night at Eck stadium. Josh Smith got the win on the mound for the Shockers. He pitched seven innings, allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out four. Johnny Coy went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI at the plate. Ryan Hege went 2-for-3 with a homerun and three RBI. Dallas Baptist took the lead off the first pitch of the game when Austin Elkins hit a homerun over the left field wall.

Don Lambert homered the first two runs of the game and doubled home the final two, as Wichita State beat Kansas State 9-7 in 15 innings Tuesday in Manhattan. The Shockers built an early 6-1 lead behind Mitch Moorman, but couldn't hold on. The Wildcats had only five hits in the game, but two of them were homers which produced 6 runs and a 7-6 KSU lead going into the 8th. WSU junior Ryan Hege tied the game7-7 in the 8th and for the third straight Tuesday the Shockers went to extra innings. Finally, in the 15th, Lambert ripped a pitch down the right field line for the winning margin.

Missouri State put together a five-run third inning and handed Wichita State its first shutout loss since early March with a 6-0 Bears' win Friday at Eck Stadium. The visiting Bears scored their six runs on 13 hits in front of a crowd of 3,275 to open a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series between the series. No. 29 Missouri State improved to 28-11 overall and 7-2 in conference play, while the Shockers fell to 23-18 overall and 5-5 in the MVC. Friday marked the first time since a 4-0 loss March 3 at Hawaii that Wichita State was shut out this season.

Wichita State sophomore Dayne Parker singled to center field in the bottom of the 11th inning to score Tyler Baker for a 2-1 win against Oklahoma State Tuesday at Eck Stadium. Parker and freshman Mikel Mucha led the Shockers with two hits each and pitcher Cale Elam (4-3) got the win on the mound for Wichita State. The Shockers improved to 23-17 overall this season and Oklahoma State dropped to 18-17 overall. The visiting Cowboys had six hits and Wichita State collected eight hits.

The Wichita State baseball team scored runs in each of the first four innings to defeat the Kansas Jayhawks, 10-2 on Wednesday night at Eck Stadium. Tobin Mateychick got the win for the Shockers, pitching six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four. He is now 3-0 on the season. Johnny Coy went 2-for-4 at the plate with one run and three RBI. Taylor Doggett went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk. Taylor Doggett doubled to lead off the game for the Shockers.

Aaron Rea hit the go-ahead RBI double in the top of the 16th inning as the Shockers outlasted Kansas 6-4 in 16 innings Tuesday night. Don Lambert later drove in Rea to give the Shockers a two-run cushion. The Jayhawks and Shockers combined to use 12 different pitchers for the marathon game that lasted more than four hours at Hoglund Park. Lawrence native Albert Minnis earned the win for Wichita State (20-15) going 4 innings giving up no earned runs and striking out three.

Wichita State freshman Casey Gillaspie drove in four runs on two homeruns to lead the Shockers in a 10-7 win against Southern Illinois Sunday at Eck Stadium. The Shockers' come-from-behind win gave Wichita State a 2-1 edge in the three-game Missouri Valley Conference weekend series between the teams. Wichita State improved to 17-13 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Southern Illinois dropped to 15-13 overall and 3-3 in the MVC. Shocker pitcher Albert Minnis got the win to improve to 2-4 this season in front of a crowd of 2,751.
