Wichita made the change five years ago.  This week, liquor stores in El Dorado were open for the first time on a Sunday. The El Dorado City Commission approved the change earlier this spring, citing that most other communities in South Central Kansas have already done it.  But the owner of Bright's Liquor says it didn't come at the recommendation of of retailers.  He doesn't expect Sunday sales to improve his bottom line.  Instead, he says...

A missing 12-year-old El Dorado girl has been found. Brandy Gray was found in Eaton County, Michigan on Friday afternoon. She was found in a car with 20-year-old Kenneth McGill. Police arrested McGill. Gray was last seen Thursday morning in El Dorado. On Friday, Michigan issued an Amber Alert. No Amber Alert was issued in Kansas. Police in El Dorado say McGill and Gray communicated through the internet. McGill is wanted in his native Canada in connection with the theft of his parents' car and is reportedly suicidal.

The search for a 12-year-old El Dorado girl who's been missing since Thursday morning continues. Police believe Brandy T. Gray may be with a 20-year-old man named Kenneth Stewart McGill, who is from Canada. Gray is 5'2" tall, 120 pounds and has straight black hair. McGill could be driving a white 2006 Chevy Impala with Canadian licence plate #MBZH 238. That vehicle was reported stolen from his parents in Ontario, Canada. Authorities say McGill was registered in El Dorado at a local motel early Thursday.

One of the girls involved in a jet ski accident over the weekend is out of the hospital.  Tyson Nielsen with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks says the other girl remains in the hospital after surgery.  But he says she's expected to recover. He says the 12 and 13 year old girls were on jet skis when for some reason they collided.  The crash happened around 10:30 Saturday morning north-east of the Shady Creek Marina at El Dorado lake. The girls were at the lake together and the jet skis are owned by the same person.  Nielsen says no citations were issued, it was purely an accident.

Officials at El Dorado State Park say it's been a good turnout so far this Memorial Day weekend. The turnout was a little slower on Sunday because of the wind but many showed up on Saturday. Park managers are estimating about 65 to 70,000 people turned out for the entire weekend. They say the camping crowd has been really good. "This has been a really good breakthrough for us as far as camping crowds, " says Assistant Park Manager Randy Just. "We haven't seen a good camping crowd like this for a while.

Bank of America is closing at least two branches in Kansas later this year. The bank's senior vice-president of media relations, Diane Wagner, confirmed to Eyewitness News that the branch in El Dorado will close on September 28 while the Hutchinson branch at 20 W. Second St. will close on September 21. In an email, Wagner wrote that every year, "Bank of America evaluates and adjusts the distribution network to bring store coverage...

Butler County emergency officials have closed the 600 block of Haverhill Road in El Dorado due to a gas leak. The street will be closed from Towanda to Central until the leak is fixed. Currently, there are no evacuations. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

Justin Edwards is charged in the death of an El Dorado infant. Prosecutors charged Edwards with first degree murder on Wednesday for the death of 18-month old Jayla Reed.    Reed's mother, Alyssa Haag, is also charged with first degree murder in her daughter's death.   El Dorado police say the mother's story was inconsistent with the child's injuries...when they were called in to investigate.  Haag and Edwards are both due back...

As people all over Kansas sift through whatever's left of their property after Saturday's tornado outbreak, they're discovering their photographs - many of them wet, stuck together or damaged. But Operation Photo Rescue knows, the most precious things you have are your memories.  The non-profit organization travels all over the country, after disaster, to help salvage those memories. "Think about it," says Margie Hayes, President of Operation Photo Rescue.  "If your photos were destroyed, what would it mean to you?"

Access to the El Dorado Wal-Mart was limited Friday after a car drove through the entrance.  El Dorado police say a vehicle struck a parked car, which sent the parked car through the glass doors. The accident happened around ten o'clock Friday morning. Police say no one was hurt.
