The need for speed helped us decide the third stop for our 'One of a Kind' Kansas road trip.  We're in Belleville, a town of about 2,000 people.  It's located in Republic County, not far from the Nebraska boarder. Click here for photos of our crew in Belleville On Facebook, Jenny 'Ahlvers' Russell posted Belleville is an awesome and historic place. It's home to the World's Fastest Half Mile Dirt Track which has hosted racing giants before they became famous.  She went on to tell us about the Boyer Gallery of Animated Carvings and the the resurgence of downtown.  Belleville has a town square with a historic courthouse and several small businesses.

A picture on Facebook leads a stolen puppy back to its owner.  After Eyewitness News posted the picture of 11-month-old "Emmie" on our Facebook page, a woman called and said she thought she had the dog. The dog was stolen from owner Josh Duttarer during a burglary Monday afternoon.  Thieves also got away with valuable electronics from Duttarer's mobile home on South Seneca. Duttarer suffers from Spina Bifida and uses a wheelchair to get around.  He said "Emmie" was in training to become a service dog to help him with household tasks.

A state trooper in southeast Kansas will recover after his patrol car was hit by a semi.  The Highway Patrol posted a picture of the smashed patrol car on its Facebook page. Troopers posted it to serve as a reminder to slow down when roads are slick.  The crash happened while a trooper was sitting in his car after working a non-injury accident in Bourbon County. The KHP says a semi driving down the road lost control on the ice and hit the parked patrol car.  The trooper went to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.  He's since been released from the hospital.

The Shepherd family never takes a single moment for granted. "We don't know from day to day what's expected," James Shepard said. "We really don't. That's the frustrating part. " Two of his daughters carry a genetic mitochondria disease that left them without hearing or the use of their limbs. Doctors have never seen it before, but they know it will take their lives. "I did CPR right here in the middle of the floor, we were in the hospital and since that time we've been in and out of the hospital for the last 14 years," says James.

If you "like" the job Wichita Police are doing, let them know about it by following the department's Facebook page. For about two months, police have been pounding the computer keyboard with Facebook posts and Twitter messages to tell citizens about everything from specific crimes in their neighborhoods, to timely traffic alerts. "If detectives or officers have some information on a case say like a suspect's photo or surveillance video or something like that, we can put that out and ask for information," said Officer Jerod Metcalf, the face behind WPD's social media effort.

Car washes are in the business of cleaning cars.  However, Sunday night at Little Joe's Car Wash someone came in for a different kind of business. Surveillance videos show a vehicle driving into a stall.  A man gets out and squats in the corner.  The owner's put on their Facebook page that during that time, the man went to the restroom.  He left behind quite a mess for them in the morning. Little Joe's Car Wash posted the video on You Tube, hoping someone recognizes the car so they can find out why the man left behind such a mess.
