Protestors waved American flags and demonstrated at Florida fire station Sunday. They were protesting a decision by Seminole city officials to ban flying the flag on city fire trucks. The order to remove the flags came after a complaint from a member of the public. The complaing concerned a flag being flown from the back of a ladder truck. Smaller flags were later displayed in the truck's windows, but they, too, were removed after complaints. A spokesperson for the city's fire department says the complainer did not take issue with the flags themselves-- but how they were displayed.

The wind uprooted a tree in southwest Wichita Monday.  The tree toppled over in the strong winds at a house near 31st and south Meridian. Fire crews say the trees roots had rotted out, so it wouldn't have taken much to knock the tree down. No one lived at the home where the tree fell, but city crews cleaned it up to make sure it didn't fall on the home next door.  They also wanted to make sure children couldn't play on it and get hurt. Wind may have contributed to a roll-over accident this afternoon, but officers say the driver was also going too fast.  The semi was carrying a load of table salt, when it tried to exit K-96 for westbound Kellogg.  The driver was not seriously hurt.

The Confederate Flag and NASCAR. It's the 800lb gorilla in the middle of every race track.  And I don't care if it's Phoenix, Daytona, Darlington or Kansas. They are as much apart of the sport as the cars, the the gas cans and race haulers. And as much as NASCAR wants to ignore it...it's there. And it's a part of their image. Then there is the General Lee. A fictional car from a 80's television show. Is it named after a civil war general? Yes. Does it have a large confederate flag on the hood?
