It would be a lot easier to just forget how badly Kansas played against T.C.U. the first time around but it's best to remember where they went wrong. It was ugly from the opening tip for KU; the Jayhawks didn't score until the 12:43 mark in the first half after starting 0-4 with 6 turnovers.  Kansas was shooting just under 6 percent in the first half on 1 of 17 shooting until Jeff Withey hit the Jayhawks' second field goal of the game with 4:47 remaining in the matchup.  That's not just bad, that's obscene.  Kansas also faced its worst deficit of the season in that game when they were down 16 points to the Horned Frogs.  Their 13 point first-half perofrmance was the worst by a Bill Self coached Kansas team.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hughes Metroplex. Earlier this year McConnell AFB was the only base to be named a finalist for the Formal Training Unit (FTU) and the First Main Operating Base (MOB1). Others competing for tanker bases include Altus AFB (OK), Fairchild AFB (WA), and Grand Forks AFB (ND). City officials say the public's input is crucial as the US Air Force tries to gauge community interest in the project.

Did you know that all of the sky is NOT falling for Kansas basketball teams? ON the heels of Wichita State losing three in a row and Kansas' unbelievable loss to bottomfeeder TCU, #13 K-State has won three straight heading to their home game with Iowa State, Saturday at 5 p.m. After squeaking past Oklahoma last Saturday by only two points, they muscled up on Texas Tech on the road boosting them to this weekend's tilt. The Wildcats (17-4) lost to the Cyclones last time around but that was in Ames at the Hilton Coliseum, a place that isn't so easy to even compete, let alone win. The same could be said for Bramlage Coliseum but with Bruce Weber running the show and not Frank Martin and his bombastic personality on the bench, the attitude at the Octagon of Doom may not be the same.

For What it's Worth on this January 28 -- Thirteen teams in front of Wichita State lost seventeen times last week, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of bump they get in the national polls today. My guess is that they'll come in at #15 - the Shocks have two good RPI tests this week at home with Indiana State(55) on Tuesday and on the road with UNI(96) Saturday. Blood in the water--- Bradley Coach Geno Ford on WSU: “What Wichita State does better than any team in our league - is when they smell blood in the water-- they take it to another level of energy.” The Shockers might have just as well been vampires over the last 23 minutes against the Braves; some of their best extended minutes of the season.
