Thunder netminder Adam Russo stole the show, making save after save and earned his third shutout of the season as Wichita (31-12-2) skated by the Tulsa Oilers (21-18-5) Friday night with a 3-0 win at INTRUST Bank Arena. Matt Robinson scored twice for the fourth time this season and RG Flath had three helpers to pace the Thunder. After relinquishing a one-goal lead with two minutes left, Andrew Martens scored with 1:17 remaining in OT to push Wichita (26-12-2) past the Tulsa Oilers (19-15-5) 3-2 Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena infront of 7,205 fans. Wichita is improves to 6-4 this season against Tulsa despite missing five players from the line-up. R.G. Flath (6) scored the lone goal of the first period on a beautiful backhand from the left circle that beat Tulsa goalie Ian Keserich eight minutes into the game.

The Wichita Thunder edged the Tulsa Oilers 2-1 in a shootout on Friday night in a CHL exhibition game played at the Wichita Ice Center. After a scoreless first period, the Thunder got on the board late in the second on a goal by Dustin Donaghy. The score stayed that way until the latter part of the third period when Matt Robertson tied things up at 1-1. Thunder goaltender Adam Russo (35) and Tulsa goaltender Ian Keserich (40) shut the door the rest of the third period, combining to stop 75 shots in the game.

The Wichita Thunder lost 4-2 to the Tulsa Oilers at the BOK Center on Saturday night. Chris Greene helped the Thunder grab a first period lead, scoring shorthanded at 11:06. Greene grabbed a loose puck at the Wichita blue line, worked up the ice, and faked out Oilers' goaltender Ian Keserich with a shot under his left pad. Tulsa ran off three straight goals in the third to take a 3-1 advantage, including two scores separated by just 50 seconds. After Marty Magers made a great kick save on a shot from Jack Combs, Combs snuck his own rebound past Magers' left to tie the game at 2:22.

The Wichita Thunder lost 5-1 to the Tulsa Oilers at the BOK Center on Saturday night. Matt Robinson became the first Thunder player to score 30 goals in a season since 2006-07, but a three-goal first period by the Oilers was too much to overcome. Mike Wirill snuck a backhander near the crease under the left pad of Marc-Antoine Gelinas at 6:30 in the first ti give Tulsa a 1-0 lead. At 12:51, Jason Goulet hauled down Evan Kotsopoulos at the tail end of a breakaway, leading to a penalty shot.

The Wichita Thunder lost 6-5 to the Tulsa Oilers at the BOK Center on Saturday night. Chad Costello's power play goal at 11:22 in the third period broke a 5-5 tie that stood for the remainder of the game. A.J. Gale had scored at 8:40 in the third from the left faceoff circle to tie the game. The teams combined for seven goals in the second period, beginning with Aaron Davis's score at 1:25. Davis shot from between the left corner and Tulsa's net, slicing the puck over the left shoulder of Tulsa netminder Ian Keserich.

The Wichita Thunder lost 7-4 to the Tulsa Oilers at the INTRUST Bank Arena on Saturday night. With the score tied at 2-2 in the second, Harrison Reed put the Oilers in front with a power play goal at 7:06, driving in a slot rebound to the right of Peter Delmas. Jack Combs made it 4-2 Tulsa with another power play goal at 8:37. Troy Schwab narrowed the gap to 4-3, beating Oilers' goaltender Ian Keserich from close range at 10:15. The Oilers padded their lead in the third, scoring three times.

The Wichita Thunder made two transactions Thursday morning, signing defenseman Mike Looby and releasing goaltender Ian Keserich. Looby scored nine goals and 38 total points for the Laredo Bucks last season. As a true rookie, the Brampton, Ontario native was also a member of the Bucks' 2006 President's Cup championship team. The 6-foot, 197-pound Looby has 99 points in 258 career games and attended training camp with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators last month. Looby enters his sixth season of professional hockey and fifth in the CHL. Keserich, one of two remaining players from last year's team, was 0-3-0 with a 4.03 goals against average and an .840 save percentage.
