The second ranked Kansas Jayhawks pounded the Iowa State Cyclones today 89 to 66 at Phog Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence. The Jayhawks (24-1, 8-1) were led by Marcus Morris with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Markieff Morris was also impressive, recording a double-double with 13 and 11 while also dishing out 5 assists. Tyshawn Taylor found a shooting groove as well finishing with 14 points. Both Thomas Robinson (torn meniscus) and Josh Selby (stress reaction in foot) were on the bench for Kansas this afternoon.

Mario Little, the senior forward for No. 3 Kansas who missed six games after being charged in a fight, has been cleared to play. Coach Bill Self announced the decision late Monday. The 22-year-old Little was arrested Dec. 16 after a fight involving his girlfriend and others. He was charged with seven misdemeanors. Self said Little received a diversion agreement from Lawrence Municipal Court for two battery charges and will receive weekly counseling through the end of the season.

Austen Arnaud ignited a sluggish offense with a 37-yard pass completion and Josh Lenz returned a punt 62 yards for a touchdown, lifting Iowa State past Kansas 28-16 on Saturday. Arnaud's pass to Darius Darks keyed a third-quarter touchdown drive that put the Cyclones (5-4, 3-2 Big 12) ahead. They added two more TDs in the period to put it away. Given up for dead after allowing 120 points in consecutive losses to Utah and Oklahoma, Iowa State has won two straight and needs only one victory in its last three games to become bowl eligible for the second year in a row. Michigan State has moved into The Associated Press college football poll after its thrilling victory against Notre Dame, while No. 14 Arizona received its best regular-season ranking in 12 years after the Wildcats knocked off Iowa. K-State received four votes, six less than last week after topping Iowa State at Arrowhead Stadium. There was no movement at the top of the rankings. The top five of Alabama, Ohio State, Boise State, TCU and Oregon was unchanged from last week.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Daniel Thomas rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 34 carries, and Kansas State rallied to beat Iowa State 27-20 on Saturday. Carson Coffman added 104 passing yards for the Wildcats (3-0, 1-0 Big 12), who have won back-to-back conference openers for the first time in 10 years. Austen Arnaud threw for 122 yards and a touchdown to lead Iowa State (1-2, 0-1), which lost its third straight to Kansas State. Thomas's 2-yard TD run gave Kansas State a 24-20 lead with 6:47 left.

Head coach Frank Martin will throw out the first pitch at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday, August 18, as the Kansas City Royals host the Cleveland Indians for K-State Day at 7:10 p.m. CT. Fans will be able to pick up season ticket information for the football and men's and women's basketball home seasons as well as the upcoming Wildcat sporting events in Kansas City in the Outfield Experience. K-State will play Iowa State in football at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, September 18 then UNLV in men's basketball at the Sprint Center on Tuesday, December 21. It will also be Buck Night at the K, where fans can get hot dogs, small Pepsi drinks, peanuts, Twinkies, Gameday magazines and Scorecards for $1. Tickets can be purchased at www.kansascity.
