Kansas State forward Curtis Kelly will miss four more games after committing a secondary NCAA violation while buying clothes at a Manhattan department store. Athletics Director John Currie announced Tuesday that the NCAA accepted Kansas State's recommendation that Kelly sit out six games and repay the value of the benefit he received to a charity. Kelly already sat out two games last week. Kelly, who is averaging 10.3 points and four rebounds, will be eligible to play again against Texas Tech on Jan. 15. Kelly and senior guard Jacob Pullen were declared ineligible last week for accepting impermissible benefits.

Former Wichita State head coach and former Kansas player Mark Turgeon probably liked getting this win just a little bit more than most others.  Today his Texas A&M Aggies held off the Kansas State Wildcats, 64-56. Jacob Pullen led the Wildcats in scoring with 21 while Curtis Kelly added a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.  The 'Cats couldn't score from the outside, shooting just 20 percent (5-20) from three-point range.  Kansas State also shot just 57% from the free throw line compared to 72% for the Aggies.

Tre'Von Willis scored 16 points and Oscar Bellfield hit a key 3-pointer in the final 70 seconds, leading UNLV to a 63-59 victory Tuesday night over No. 11 Kansas State, whose two best players were suspended shortly before the game. The NCAA, citing receipt of impermissible benefits, told point guard Jacob Pullen, a four-year starter and preseason All-American, to sit out three games. Curtis Kelly, the Wildcats' only other senior, was also told not to play and Kansas State said the extent of his punishment would be decided later.

On a night when K-State needed a win in the worst way, they turned to an unlikey source to get it. Shooting a season high 81 percent, the 'Cats outscored Baylor by 8 points at the free throw line in a 69-61 win over the Bears. After leading by seven at the half, K-State trailed briefly early in the second half only to take back the lead on an 11-1 run. Baylor would get as close as five late, but the 'Cats closed them out at the line. Freshman Will Spradling hit all nine of his free throws on the way to 17 points, which matched teammate Jacob Pullen for game high honors.
