K-State held on to outlast #22 Missouri's rally and get their sixth win in February, 80-70 in Bramlage Coliseum. K-State (20-9) opened the game on a 10-0 run to put Missouri on their heels. Senior Jacob Pullen started the game seven points shy of 2,000 points and eclipsed that after first three minutes, going 3-for-3 from three point range. He finished the game with 24 points. Curtis Kelly added 15. The Tigers (22-7) cut the lead to seven in the first half but K-State kept the pressure up and led 41-38 at halftime.

It seemed like the gap between the KU and K-State programs had closed after the 2009-10 season and with K-State beginning this season as a pre-season top three team in the country. But following a 90-66 Jayhawk drubbing to K-State, it seems like the gap has grown wider. KU (20-1) was good in the first half, great in the second half and the Wildcats (14-8) were simply bad. Shooting only 33 percent from the floor, a dismal 19 percent in the first half. This game was a cathartic release for Kansas and especially Thomas Robinson who endured a terribly tragic three weeks where he lost both his grandparents and his mother, Lisa, and attended her funeral on Thursday.

By Bryan Holmgren (OKLAHOMA CITY) Watch and learn, Villanova. This is how it's supposed to be done. One of the fun parts of the tournament is the occasional opportunity to step away from "work" to watch the end of tight games. Most every member of the media is also a basketball fan and even though we do our best to keep up professional appearance, it's tough to avoid ooohing or gasping after a big shot or an exciting finish. When Murray State dumped Vanderbilt (2005.

Mario Little's three-point play broke a tie with 71 seconds to go and Oklahoma State missed a desperation heave at the buzzer, allowing No. 2 Kansas to escape with a 63-62 victory Thursday in the second round of the Big 12 tournament. Big 12 player of the year Marcus Morris, shut down most of the second half, hit a key 3-pointer for the Jayhawks (30-2). Kansas trailed by as many as eight until Oklahoma State (19-13) got in deep foul trouble in the second half. Keiton Page had 23 points and Jean-Paul Olukemi had 17 for Oklahoma State, which did a good job of keeping Marcus and Markieff Morris away from the basket and forced the Jayhawks out deep.

by Bryan Holmgren Wisconsin 72, Kansas State 55 K-State raised our hopes with a rousing performance against USC on Thursday. Tonight they were done in the by same achilles heel that's doomed them all season long: inconsistancy. Sure the Cats have shown an ability to raise themselves that extra level. They just can't seem to do it on a regular basis. March has a way of making you dream a little. What exactly made us think that the Wildcats had suddenly turned the corner against equally fickle USC?

"I only had basketball on my mind and thought i'd finish it later. Well later turned into two years and two turned into five and so forth," Britt said. He was a part of the team that played in the gym when it was brand new. Now 20 years later Britt has returned.
