The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the El Paso Diablos 16-2 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Saturday night. Coupled with Sioux Falls' loss to St. Paul, the Wingnuts remain alive in the second half division race. The Wingnuts are one game out of first place with one game remaining in 2010. The Wingnuts tied a club record with 16 runs scored, while pounding out 22 hits in the win. Carlos Rivera tied a club record with five hits, including two home runs and five RBI. The Wingnuts scored five runs in the bottom of the first to take early control of the game.

The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the Fort Worth Cats 8-5 at LaGrave Field on Wednesday night. Cesar Suarez lifted a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh to break a 5-5 tie. Jeff Christy and Josh Horn opened the inning with back-to-back singles and advanced 90 feet after a sacrifice bunt from Ryan Patterson. Michael Bell ripped a two-out, two-run home run in the top of the eighth to give the Wingnuts a three-run cushion. After Luke Massetti and Dustin Pease combined for a perfect eighth inning, Dustin Cameron recorded a scoreless ninth against his former team to pick up his 18th save of the year.

The Wichita Wingnuts blanked the Fort Worth Cats 5-0 at LaGrave Field on Monday night. Wingnuts' starter Adam Cowart picked up where Kevin Angelle left off on Sunday, tossing seven-plus scoreless innings to earn his sixth win of the year. Cowart struck out two and walked one while allowing only five hits. Cowart escaped a first inning jam, stranding a runner on third. Jeremy Sauceda tripled to center with one out, but Cowart retired Kevin Thompson on a comebacker and John Allen on a flyball to right.

The Wichita Wingnuts shutout the El Paso Diablos 1-0 at Cohen Stadium on Sunday evening. Kevin Angelle won for a second consecutive start, firing seven-plus shutout innings. Angelle struck out four, walked three, and scattered six hits. The Wingnuts scored the only run of the night in the top of the fourth. Jorge Cortes led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch from Diablos' starter Shaun Ellis. Carlos Rivera moved Cortes to third with a groundout to second base.

The Wichita Wingnuts lost 6-5 to the El Paso Diablos at Cohen Stadium on Saturday night. Tied 5-5 in the bottom of the ninth, Jeff Hulett singled to left off of Dustin Cameron to drive in Arnoldo Ponce with the winning run. Ponce singled to left against Cephas Howard leading off the inning, who retired the next two hitters before Cameron was summoned from the bullpen. The Wingnuts left 14 runners on base in the loss. The Wingnuts mounted a ninth inning comeback to tie the game.

The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the Sioux Falls Pheasants 9-4 in a rain-shortened game at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Saturday night. Steady rains throughout the night eventually forced the game to be called after the end of the sixth. All nine of the Wingnuts runs were scored with two outs with seven of Wichita's nine starters collecting at least one hit. Down 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Michael Bell singled up the middle with two outs and no one on base. After Jeff Christy walked, Josh Horn singled up the middle to score Bell with the tying run. Ryan Patterson hit a slow groundball to third that resulted in Trevor Lawhorn's throw bouncing into the outfield.

The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the Lincoln Saltdogs 11-7 at Haymarket Park on Monday night. The Wingnuts collected 15 hits and scored in six different innings. Josh Horn homered and scored three runs while going 3 for 5 in his first game since July 18th. Tied at 5-5 in the top of the seventh, the Wingnuts used a four-run rally to take their third and final lead of the night. Horn opened the inning with a single to right field and went to third when Ryan Patterson pulled a double down the left field.

The Wichita Wingnuts beat the Sioux City Explorers 10-0 at Lewis and Clark Park on Saturday night. The Wingnuts scored four runs before Adam Cowart ever took the mound, who tossed six shutout innings to earn the win. Jorge Cortes doubled down the left field line with one out in the top of the first and advanced to third on a single to right-center by Raul Gonzalez. Carlos Rivera crushed a double to the warning track in right-center that scored Cortes and Gonzalez to give Wichita an early 2-0 lead.

The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the Shreveport-Bossier Captains 6-3 at Fairgrounds Field on Tuesday night. Bubba O'Donnell worked seven strong innings in his Wingnuts debut, allowing three earned runs on just five hits for the win. O'Donnell struck out seven and walked none. From the end of the first inning through the sixth, O'Donnell retired 16 of 17 hitters. Jorge Cortes hit a two-out, two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to open a 6-3 lead for the Wingnuts.

The Wichita Wingnuts won 5-4 over the Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park on Thursday night. The Wingnuts scored the winning run in the top of the ninth to take their third lead of the game and win the rubber game of their series with Lincoln. Tied at four in the ninth, Eric Williams was hit in the back with a pitch from reliever Adam Daniels. Williams advanced to second on a hit-and-run groundball from Ryan Patterson. Daniels walked Jorge Cortes and Michael Bell back-to-back to load the bases.
