Kansas received signatures from 10 of its 25 signees during the mid-year signing period in December and added an early enrollee, in halfback Colin Spencer (Dallas, Texas/Woodrow Wilson HS), in January. On Wednesday morning 14 more prospects faxed in their scholarship papers to bring the total number to 25. The 17th ranked Kansas Jayhawks (8-3) will host the Howard Bison (4-9) on Thursday night at Allen Fieldhouse.  It's the Jayhawks' first home game since their October 10th victory against then 2nd-ranked Ohio State. Kansas is coming off a 63-47 victory on the road at U.S.C.  Coach Bill Self was happy for the victory but also said his team played with a serious lack of energy. The Jayhawks were ranked in the top 15 before they lost to Davidson at the Sprint Center on December 19th.  Kansas is struggling from the three-point line this season, shooting just about 35% in their first 11 games.  However, they are still averaging close to 75 points per game and are nearly 50 percent shooting from the field.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (AP) - Tyshawn Taylor and the rest of the Kansas Jayhawks know better than to focus on seeds this time of year. Especially when it comes to those nasty No. 11s. The second-seeded Jayhawks play No. 11 seed North Carolina State in the Midwest Regional semifinals Friday night. It was another No. 11 seed, VCU, which ousted the Jayhawks one game shy of reaching the Final Four last season. Taylor has said all along that seeds don't matter come March.
