With just 5 games remaining on their Big 12 schedule the Kansas State Wildcats have just one thing on their minds: win out. If they are able to do that the 'Cats have a chance to be outright or co-big 12 champions. But controlling your own destiny is a lot easier than it sounds with what Kansas State has remaining in front of them. This Saturday the 'Cats will travel to Austin to take on Texas. The Wildcats easily handled the Longhorns inside Bramlage, 83-57, but that was without Myck Kabongo in the 'Horns lineup.

Will Spradling tied a career-high with 19 points helping lead the Kansas State Wildcats (21-5, 10-3) to a 71-61 victory over West Virginia (13-13, 6-7) and the Wildcats' former coach, Bob Huggins. The Wildcats started scoring early and often in this game quickly building a 20-6 lead in the first half. The Mountaineers were never able to dig out of the hole in an absolute foul-fest of a game. Nino Williams scored 13 points for KState while Angel Rodriguez finished with 11 points. This was Rodriguez's fourth straight game scoring in double-digits.

It's been another slow start to conference play for the 25th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats (12-4, 1-3) as they come off two tough losses to host Texas on Wednesday night. Of course this slow start is nothing new for head coach Frank Martin whose last three Wildcats teams have started either 0-4 or 1-3 in conference play. The last two years those teams have rallied back and earned byes in the conference tournament. The 'Cats last game was an 82-73 loss at Oklahoma; it was a game where the Wildcats never had the lead. K-state did have the lead at home against Baylor just a few days before but were unable to finish as the Bears came back to win by two. The biggest problem for Kansas State lately has been turnovers. Right now the Wildcats are averaging more than 16 turnovers per game and have had 20 and 19 in their last two games against Baylor and Oklahoma respectively.

For the first time this season the Kansas State Wildcats (4-0) are hitting the road and will face Virginia Tech (5-2) at Cassell Coliseum on Sunday. Frank Martin's team easily defeated George Washington at home this past Thursday, earning a 69-56 victory at Bramlage. Rodney McGruder is pacing the Wildcats averaging 13 points per game, but Will Spradling and Thomas Gibson are right on his heels with 12.8 points per game. It is expected that McGruder, Spradling, Gibson, Jamar Samuels and Martavious Irving will get the start on Sunday.
