A man from Alaska dies in a car crash Friday morning in Chautauqua County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened just after 4:30 Friday morning on U.S. 166 about 10 miles southwest of Sedan. Investigators say 26-year-old Jacob Clare was driving west on the highway when he went left of center and struck an on-coming car. Clare died at the scene, the driver of the other car was hurt and taken to a hospital in Sedan. Investigators say both drivers were wearing seat belts.

One person is dead after a crash involving several cars on the Kansas Turnpike Wednesday morning.  It happened at around 12:30 am on I-35 near Pawnee.  The Kansas Highway Patrol says a school bus was towing another school bus when the attachment came undone, leaving both of the buses disabled in the southbound lane of the Turnpike. KHP says two passenger cars and a semi crashed while trying to avoid those buses. The driver of one of those cars, identified as 60-year-old Donald Putman of Wichita, was killed.

A 67-year-old truck driver is killed after a semi crash in Meade County Wednesday afternoon.  It happened around 2:45 Wednesday on US 54 just east of the K-98 junction. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the driver, Herman C. Anderson, Jr. of Tennessee, was headed east on US 54 when he drove left of center and into a ditch.  The truck kept going until it drove off of a 38-foot railroad cut and jackknifed. KHP says the truck came to rest on it's wheels on the railroad tracks. No one else was hurt.  No word on why the driver lost control in the first place.

Authorities think bitter overnight lows may have contributed to the death of an El Dorado woman. 30-year-old Beth Ann Noffsinger was found dead early Monday morning in a field. The Butler County Sheriff's office says deputies were called to Highway 54 and SE Cattle Pen Road for the report of a missing person around 12:45 Monday morning.  The victim's fiance was in his car parked in the area.  He said he drove to the area with Noffisnger, but then she became disoriented and got out of the car and started running.  He told officials he doesn't know why she left.

Latest Update: A man injured in a trooper-involved chase and shooting over the weekend is expected to survive.  A spokesperson for the Kansas Highway Patrol says authorities plan to arrest the man after he's released from the hospital. The Salina Police Department says they received a report that the man attempted to force a woman into a car and threatened to kill her and himself at a Salina home.  This happened at around 8:30 A.M. The woman was able to escape.

By Alana Rocha (WICHITA, Kan.) Eyewitnesses come forward to set the record straight in a traffic crash that killed a 39-year-old Wichita woman. Saturday morning, the Kansas Highway Patrol corrects the information they put out to the media. Thursday morning, around 7:50, the KHP responded to an accident on north bound I-135 just south of the 1st and 2nd Street exit. The crash involved three vehicles. Given the information at the time, troopers reported the victim, Dawn Helmer was at fault.

An 18-year-old from Rozel dies in a crash Tuesday morning in Pawnee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash was reported just after 7:00 Tuesday morning at 200th Ave. and F Road, southwest of Garfield. Investigators say Brant A. Colglazier was driving south on 200th Ave. when he began to lose control on the sandy road. The KHP says Colglazier left the road two different time, came back on the road, and struck a light pole. Investigators say his pick-up continued out of control into a ditch and rolled at least twice.

An elderly Belleville man dies after an accident Monday morning in Republic County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 84-year-old James Roland Duffey was southbound on 120 road northeast of Scandia AROUND 11:50 Monday when he lost control. Investigators say Duffey's pick-up went into a ditch and rolled. The KHP says Duffey died at the scene. Investigators say they are not sure if he was wearing a seat belt. No one else was involved in the accident.

A north-central Kansas woman dies Tuesday in a wrong-way crash in Cloud County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 2:20 Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 81 about a mile-and-a-half south of Concordia. Investigators say 80-year-old Carol Rogers of Simpson was driving north in the southbound lanes, when she collided with the trailer of a semi. The KHP reports that Rogers died at the scene; the driver of the semi was not hurt.

Authorities release the name of a child killed in a multi-vehicle wreck in Cowley County. Four-year-old Jonathan Coberley of Arkansas City was killed when an SUV collided with another SUV Saturday afternoon just north of Arkansas City. His father was taken to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. A passenger in the other SUV was taken to the hospital in serious condition.  KHP is investigating the crash.
