A man accused of threatening and kidnapping his girlfriend as well as fleeing from police enters a guilty plea. Prosecutors say Charles Dinneen led state troopers on a car chase in March that ended when he was shot inside of a Salina church. They say dash cam video shows Dinneen walking into a church with a gun. Troopers told him to put it down, and when he didn't they used tasers on him. Troopers say when that when that didn't work they shot him. Dinneen pled guilty on charges of attempted kidnapping, criminal threat, and fleeing and eluding a police officer.

He's already serving 139 years for kidnapping and raping a convenience store clerk in 2008, now Robert Abner faces bank robbery charges. A federal grand jury in Wichita indicted 42-year-old Robert Abner for the June 27th, 2008 robbery of the Garden Plain State Bank.   If convicted, he faces up to 25 years and a fine of up to $250,000. Abner is already in prison serving time for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman who worked at a Viola convenience store.  She was released three days later in southeast Wichita.

The suspect in a Derby kidnapping and sexual assault is in custody in Springfield, Missouri. Patrick Stewart was arrested there by U.S. Marshals, and is awaiting extradition to Kansas. He is accused of beating, tying up, and sexually assaulting two women in Derby after a Super Bowl party. The Derby Police Department says Stewart was also wanted for charges in Georgia, Idaho and Missouri.

by Chris Durden The kidnapping and murder of a Cowley College student leads to a tougher stalking law in Kansas. Governor Sebelius signed Jodi's Law Friday. The law is named for Jodi Sanderholm. Prosecutors say the man who killed her stalked other girls, sometimes for years. The new law does the following: broadens and clarifies the definition of stalking takes out the "credible threat" requirement that only allowed police to intervene if someone was threatened creates tougher penalties for stalking.

The man accused of kidnapping a Viola convenience store clerk made his first appearance in court Monday.  Robert Abner is charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, six counts of Rape and Two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sodomy. by Chris Durden (WICHITA, Kan.) A Wichita man accused of kidnapping and rape is back in Kansas. A plane carry Robert Abner landed at Jabara Airport late Friday afternoon. Deputies then escorted him to the Sedgwick County Jail.

A Kansas man who is already in prison for abducting a store clerk in Viola has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on a bank robbery charge.   Forty-two year old Robert D. Abner, pleaded guilty to the June 27, 2008, robbery of the Garden Plain State in Garden Plain, Kansas. During the robbery he brandished what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money before fleeing on foot. The weapon later was determined to be a pellet gun. Abner was arrested in Oregon in July 2008.

In front of the Isely Elementary School Friday afternoon, Wichita Police arrest a man suspected of capital murder. Police say they were following him for about a week for a possible parole violation. A relative of the suspect says he cut off his ankle monitoring bracelet. Police say they spotted the suspect walking down Grove street, then getting into a car, they pulled it over near the school and arrested the suspect. Along with capital murder the suspect is also charged with other crimes including aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

By Melody Pettit (SALINA, Kan.) It started with a call to 911, then a car chase. It all ended at a Salina church in March. That's where Charles Dinneen was shot by state troopers. Thursday Dinneen was in court for a preliminary hearing on charges including kidnapping and assault. Video played in court reveals what led up to the shooting. The Kansas State Highway Patrol showed video from a dash-cam from the trooper who tried to pull Dinneen over. The video was entered as evidence.

By Melody Pettit (Salina, Kan.) A Smolan man who was shot Saturday by a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper after a chase made his first appearance by video Wednesday morning in Saline County District Court. Forty-six year old Charles Dinneen's bond was set $500,000. There was also a no contact order entered. He is to complete an application for appointed counsel and the case will be called Thursday morning at 8:30 to review that application. Further court dates will be set then.
