A fast food favorite could soon be a healthy menu option. Getting a daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids could be as simple as biting into a burger. Jim Drouillard, Kansas State University professor, created USDA approved omega-3 enriched ground beef. The experiment started about 10 years ago. He discovered feeding cattle flax seed increased omega-3 levels in the animals over the course of several months. “It's better for your cholesterol and your heart and everything,” he said.

by Richard Smith K-State football fans hoping for significant offseason changes to the coaching staff may wind up disappointed. In his end-of-season teleconference Thursday, Wildcat head coach Ron Prince said he didn't expect any changes on his coaching staff. "I have a lot of confidence in the guys we have here and they've done a really good job," Prince said. "In most people's eyes, when you have a situation like this they want to see a lot of blood in the streets and that sort of thing, but that doesn't do anything to build continuity.

It already costs you tens of thousands of dollars, but now a college education in Kansas will get even more expensive. The Board of Regents voted to raise tuition at all six state schools Thursday. The increases range from 4% at K-State and Fort Hays State to 6.9% at Emporia State. "Awesome, that's what we want," said WSU student Lashawna Williams with sarcasm dripping from her voice. "I don't even know what the money is going to. We already pay enough for books and everything else, it's kind of stressful," she said.

By Bruce Haertl (SALT LAKE CITY) Game Day - Kansas State is loose. I don't know how that will equate in their game against Xavier, but they are a loose group. I didn't know how deeply the 'bad blood' flowed between these two teams, at least from the 'Cats perspective. The way that Xavier beat them in Cincinnati two years ago (103-77--Frank Martin's worst loss at KSU) has really stuck with these guys. That they still carry such a grudge two years later is interesting. The more I get to know Frank Martin, the more I like him--and I had a pretty good vibe about him right from the start.

Kansas State looks to win for the eighth time in ten starts on Saturday when they host Texas A&M. A football team never wants to measure progress while losing, but the 'Cats may have gained in national perception after their 52-45 loss at 3 rd ranked Oklahoma St. last weekend. Despite the loss KSU remained 14 th in the BCS poll and with a win over A&M they would set themselves up for a nice payday come bowl season. Headed to the SEC next year, Texas A&M's exit strategy hasn't been particularly graceful.
