***THIS STORY HAS BEEN UPDATED, SEE LINK BELOW*** Police say a man impersonating law enforcement pulled a woman over early Saturday morning, but was scared off by a Wichita police officer. The incident happened shortly after 1:00am Saturday, at I-135 & Harry. Click here to see the latest on this story Wichita police say the officer spotted what he thought was a routine traffic stop by a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper, and pulled up behind what appeared to be a KHP vehicle to provide backup.

The two biggest races in Wichita and Sedgwick County in 2012 are for District Attorney and Sheriff. District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District (Sedgwick County & Wichita) Prosecutes violations of the criminal laws of Kansas; institutes proceedings to protect abused and neglected children; prosecutes juvenile offenders; secures care and treatment in alcohol, drug and mental commitment cases; appears before the appellate courts of Kansas, the federal courts and the United States Supreme Court regarding civil and criminal appeals; enforces the Kansas Consumer Protection Act and other statutory civil proceedings as provided by law; and provides services to victims and witnesses to ensure their fair treatment in the criminal justice system.

Out of the near-billion users of Facebook, a few are there to connect with people who they should not be connecting with. That's why the social network will be monitoring for potentially criminal activity between users, like if a child is solicited for sex. More than two dozen cars in Finney County are scratched with graffiti, and deputies want to find the suspects. The Finney County Sheriff's Department says vandals recently marked more than 29 vehicles. It happened in the Towns Riverview Drive area, an area investigators say they've responded to crimes like this before. Investigators from the sheriff's department say the graffiti is gang related. They urge people to be aware of what is happening in their neighborhood. "If they are aware of activity where there is a suspect, they should certainly call law enforcement and let us know, this can be checked out, especially an area of high occurrence rates, as we have in this area," said undersheriff John Andrews.

A Kingman County judge will allow statements Brett Seacat made during interviews before he was arrested to be used in court during his trial. A judge made the ruling Wednesday afternoon after hearing arguments from both sides. "I did ask him specifically if he had killed his wife, and he said no," said Kansas Bureau of Investigations Special Agent David Falletti. That was one of the comments that came under question Wednesday in Kingman County District Court. Brett Seacat said it to Falletti right after his arrest in May 2011.

A good cause brings out golfers on a very hot day. Friends and colleagues of retired Wichita police lieutenant Kenny Landwehr hosted a golf tournament Tuesday. Just before retiring after 35 years on the force, Landwehr was diagnosed with cancer. Today's event was organized to help him with medical costs. But it's also a good time to renew friendships. Wichita Police Captain Jeff Easter days, "What's great about it is that the P-D and the Sheriff's Office, all law enforcement has different shifts so you don't get to see those folks as often and this brings us all together to be able to see each other and catch up on what's going on and catch up on families and it's just a fantastic event for that".

Federal officials are teaming up with state and local law enforcement to battle human sex trafficking. Over the weekend, the FBI conducted their annual sting operation. It's called Operation Cross Country. During a three-day law enforcement sweep targeting the problem of teenage prostitution, officers rescued 79 children and arrested 104 alleged pimps. The operation took place Friday through Sunday. It included more than 2,500 state, local and federal officers working in 57 cities.

Lawmakers want to make it more difficult for sex offenders to be online, particularly social networks. This week, the Louisiana State Legislature passed a law requiring convicted sex offenders to identify themselves on social networking websites, like Facebook. Here in Kansas, the state law requires violent offenders to register with the county, handing over their address, phone number, work information, and email addresses, among other things. According to law enforcement, the law does not specifically require offenders to hand over social network information.
