The Wichita Wings lost on the road Wednesday night, 10-7 at Missouri. Victor Quiroz scored two goals while Wichitan Jamie Harding knocked in a three-point score. Wichita is now 3-7 overall, 6 games out of first in their division.  The Wings will face Missouri at home in Hartman Arena this Friday at 7:35 pm.

K-State announced today several options for men's basketball ticket-holders to ensure that every seat in Bramlage Coliseum is filled for the Wildcats' Big 12 Conference home opener against Missouri on January 7. With the Wildcat football team playing in the 2012 AT&T Cotton Bowl on January 6, men's basketball season ticket holders who plan on attending the bowl game and are unable to return to Manhattan can donate their basketball tickets...

Fort Hays State opened its game with Missouri Western on a 30-4 run on Saturday (Dec. 10) and cruised from that point to a 66-53 win at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays. The Tigers held the Griffons to just 1-of-17 shooting (5.8 percent) to start the game and eventually shot just 16.1 percent in the first half. Fort Hays State held a 41-17 lead at halftime. The Griffons could not get any closer than 17 points until the 2:50 mark of the second half. The score would indicate a bit closer game, but FHSU did not score over the final 4:33 of the game after holding a 20-point lead at that point.

The return of Moses Dayee proved big on Saturday as the 15th-ranked Tigers handed Northwest Missouri State its first loss of the season by a score of 83-64. Dayee tied for a team-high 19 points with Matt Simmons, who both shot over 75 percent from the field. Fort Hays State pulled NWMSU back into a tie for first place in the conference as both teams are now 9-1 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA. The Tigers built a 14-point lead of 39-25 at halftime. The Bearcats cut that lead to eight points three times early in the second half, but the Tigers withstood the charge and pushed the game back into double figures the rest of the way. Dayee was red-hot from beyond the 3-point line, hitting 5-of-6 3-point field goal attempts.

The Kansas Attorney General's office bans Missouri paving company Quality Road Construction from doing business in Kansas. In the order, the A.G.'s office says Quality Road Construction, run by Gary Leroy Haynes, Todd Haynes and Eddie Jones, were also ordered to refund $19,500 to customers who lost money to their operation. Investigators say the three, operating as Quality Road Construction, went door-to-door in north-central and northeast Kansas last summer offering to pave driveways.

The Thunder snapped a three game losing skid Wednesday night, exploding for three goals in the first six minutes of the game and knocked off arch-rival Missouri 4-1 at INTRUST Bank Arena. Matt Robinson equaled his season total with two goals, Alex Bourret added three helpers and Adam Russo stopped 25 of 26 shots to earn his sixth win of the year. Wichita earned its ninth win of the season and climbed back into a second place tie with the Tulsa Oilers with 18 points. Matt Robinson found the back of the net twice in the opening frame as he got the scoring started at 2:43 to give Wichita a 1-0 lead.

The Wichita Thunder dropped their third straight game to Tulsa Saturday night, falling to the Oilers 4-1 at Intrust Bank Arena. Thomas Beauregard was the lone goal-scorer for the Thunder on Saturday night.  Goalie Ryan McDonald recorded 22 saves in the game. The Thunder are now 8-4 and are no longer leaders in their conference.  Wichita's next game is next Wednesday the 22nd against Missouri at Intrust Bank Arena.

A Missouri man is killed in a crash Wednesday night in Marion County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 8:30 Wednesday night about three miles east of Marion at the junction of U.S. 77 and K-150. Investigators say an SUV driven by a Derby woman was going south on Highway 77 and a car driven by a man from Warrensburg, Missouri was driving west on K-150. Investigators say the driver of the car failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the SUV. A passenger in the car, 23-year-old Sai Kartik Ramanadham, was killed in the crash.

Wichita scored five unanswered goals in the third period to drop Missouri, 5-4 to takes sole possession of the top spot in the Central Hockey League. Five different scorers lit the lamp for the Thunder. Brett Hemingway, Aelx Bourret, Aaron Davis, Jarred Mohr and Andrew Martens all knotted goals for the good guys. Mohr and Martens scored in the third, putting the game away. Wichita heads south to Tulsa, Sunday and then back on the 18th.

Fort Hays State jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead and stayed with No. 17 ranked Missouri Western in the first half, but the Griffons were too much in the second half, pulling away by a score of 55-17 on Senior Day in Hays. Fort Hays State finishes the season at 4-7 overall and 3-6 in the MIAA. Missouri Western improved to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the MIAA. Fort Hays State opened the game with a 77-yard run by Andre Smith, which he followed with a 3-yard touchdown run to put the Tigers up 7-0 in the first 18 seconds of the game.
