Going through a dead red is now legal in Wichita.   The city council updated its city ordinance today to mirror what state law says. On July 1st, state law changed allowing motorcycles to go through red light if it hasn't changed after a reasonable amount of time.   Motorcycles are often too light and don't trigger the sensors to change traffic lights. Mayor Carl Brewer says he's concerned that a reasonable time can be interpreted differently but still approved the changes.
