A child who was run over and killed in south Wichita Thursday evening has been identified.  The boy's father says his son, 18-month-old Abraham Rostro, walked in front of a truck that dropped him and two siblings off. Two Sedgwick County EMS workers went to the hospital after their ambulance rolled during an early morning collision in southeast Wichita. One paramedic is in fair condition and the other was treated and released. The crash happened just before 4:00 a.m. at Lincoln and Hillside. Sedgwick County Sheriff's investigators say the ambulance was struck by a speeding car that ran a red light. The ambulance was not on a call at the time and did not have a patient aboard.  Investigators say the 25 year-old driver of a Ford Taurus was driving south on Hillside at a high rate of speed, when he ran a red light and broadsided the ambulance as it headed east on Lincoln.  The driver of the Taurus is also in serious condition.

On July 11, emergency personnel responded to a 911 call from Adventure Bay Water Park in Liberal. When paramedics arrived, lifeguards were giving two-year-old Giovanni Ramirez CPR. Paramedics took him to Southwest Medical Center where he died a short time later. The case is still under investigation, but authorities believe it is an accident.

Paramedics take one person to a Wichita hospital after a rollover crash Wednesday night. It happened just before eight o'clock near 55th Street South and K-42. Police say a pickup ran a stop sign and collided with another pickup. One driver was ejected. Paramedics took him to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in critical condition. Officers closed the ramp from K-42 to northbound I-235 to investigate the crash, but everything is back open Thursday morning.

A 38-year-old man is in fair condition, after crashing a mini-bike in N. Wichita Tuesday night. The accident happened just after six at 16th St. N. and Estelle. Police on the scene say the bike malfunctioned, causing it to suddenly stop. The rider flew over the handle-bars and hit his head. Paramedics took the man to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition, but within hours he was upgraded to fair condition.

by Jennifer Montenegro (SALINA, Kan.) A Salina man is in critical condition after a hit and run accident. Salina dispatchers tell us the man was out walking at 10:15 Monday night near Belmont and Roach. Location of Hit and Run Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital. It's not clear if the driver has been arrested.

A Buhler High School student is hurt after crashing into the back of a school bus. It happened around four o'clock Thursday afternoon on North Buhler Road. No one on the bus, which had stopped to drop off students, was hurt. Paramedics took the teenage driver to Hutchinson Regional Hospital to be checked out. Students were moved to another bus and taken home.

A man is critically hurt in a motorcycle crash in southeast Wichita. The crash happened just after six Wednesay night in the 3300 block of 31st Street South. Police say a car was turning and collided with the rider. Paramedics took the man to Wesley Medical Center. No one else was hurt in the crash.

A fight early Monday morning sends a Pratt County man to a Wichita hospital. A deputy found the man lying on a a lawn in Preston around one o'clock. He was bleeding from his face. Investigators say the man was hurt after fighting with several people during a night of drinking. Paramedics took the man to Pratt Regional Medical Center and then Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. No arrests have been made.

Police investigate a stabbing near downtown Wichita. One person was stabbed in front of The Lord's Diner around seven o'clock Friday night. Map - Location of The Lord's Diner Police on the scene say two men got into an argument and one stabbed the other with a box-cutter. Police say the victim ran into the diner yelling, "I've been stabbed!" The diner's secruity guards ran after the suspect and detained him until officers arrived.

Wichita fire investigators say smoking in the presence of medical oxygen is to blame for a fire that sent two people to the hospital late Tuesday. The fire started around 9:20 Tuesday night at the Willow Creek Manor Apartments. The complex is just to the west of Southeast High School near Harry & Oliver. Paramedics took one person to a Wichita hospital in critical condition with burns. Two other people were also hurt but one refused treatment. Both victims are expected to be released from the hospital today.

A Wichita man is in the hospital after being stabbed overnight in east Wichita.  Police say two men were fighting in the middle of the street near Grove and Murdock around 11 o'clock Tuesday. That's when a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen.   Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he underwent surgery. Police say he's expected to be okay and they hope to talk with him about what happened later this morning. No arrests have been made.

A 47-year-old Wichita man is charged with aggravated battery following a fight with his roommate which police say left her paralyzed. Gregory Williams was charged with one count of aggravated battery. His preliminary hearing is set for September 1st. Paramedics were called to the home in the 4900 block of E. Lincoln Wednesday morning.  There, they found a 48-year-old woman who said she was unable to move.  She told officers she fell and hit her head and neck. Williams, who was there at the time, told police the same story.

A Cox cable contract worker was taken to the hospital Tuesday after emergency crews found him unconscious. The man was working on the 2400 block of South Hydraulic and it is unclear if he received an electrical shock or suffered a medical health emergency. The man later regained consciousness.  No visible injuries were found but he was taken to the burn center at Via Christi on Saint Francis hospital.
