A hazardous-materials team has determined suspicious power delivered to a pregnancy counseling center in east Wichita is not dangerous. An envelope showed up A Better Choice women's center in the 3000 block of E. Central Wednesday afternoon with the powder inside. Preliminary tests determined it to be a type of sodium bicarbonate, similar to baking soda. Authorities blocked off the area for several hours while crews investigated the scene. Police and the FBI are looking into where the envelope came from.

by Dave Roberts (UDALL, Kan.) New parents usually take as many pictures as possible of their children, and the Coopers are no exception. But after a close look at their daughter's very first picture, which they snapped two weeks ago, they noticed something divine. "As soon as I looked at the picture, I knew right away what I saw I saw the face of Jesus. " Jessica Cooper said. "I didn't see the face of my dad or the face of a passed loved one or anything like that. I saw the face of Jesus next to my daughter.

If you're thinking about getting pregnant, or are already pregnant, taking care of your health is more important than ever. Follow these tips for a healthy pregnancy: Get 400 micrograms (or 0.4 mg) of folic acid daily. Eat foods fortified with folic acid, take a multivitamin, or take a folic acid pill to get your daily dose. Taking folic acid in a pill is the best way to be sure you're getting enough. Including 0.4 mg of folic acid (or folate) in your diet before you get pregnant and in the first three months of pregnancy can help prevent some birth defects.

Some medical conditions only arise during pregnancy. Some occur anyway, but pregnancy adds a new twist. Cerclage Cerclage is the placement of a stitch around the opening of the cervix. This obstetrical procedure is used to prevent spontaneous abortion in a woman who has an incompetent cervix. The stitch is made with non-absorbable material, and is removed when the pregnancy is at full term to allow labor to begin.
